I tend to get into a huge rut once we’re in the colder months. It gets dark so early, the weather is gloomy, and I’m cold! But one of the things that instantly boosts my mood is how I dress myself. I think we can all agree that putting a little bit of effort into our look can help with that, right? But one thing I have noticed over the years is that winter white really makes the biggest dent in that. And yes, you can wear white jeans in the winter. Winter white is often referred to as a slightly off white, but honestly, I believe you can wear white jeans, or white pants, in the winter so long as the rest of your outfit matches the season. I’m sharing my tips on how to wear white wide leg jeans in winter.
How To Wear Winter White Wide Leg Jeans
These jeans were a summer addition to my closet. Not surprising, as I mentioned your summer white jeans can 100% be worn in the fall and winter when done right! I’m a sucker for a wide legged crop jean and styling them is super easy on my body type. I love to pair them with so many shoes in my closet making them super versatile. And adding seasonally appropriate colors and fabrics brings it all together.
Add A Heel
I think a lot of people feel overwhelmed by the cropped wide-leg jean. Don’t be! The easiest way to make these feel better on your body is to just add a little heel. Doesn’t need to be a big one! But the slight heel, or even platform Converse, works here. It adds some length to your legs which I think is the issue folks sometimes have. They feel cut off by the pants. As someone with a long torso and short legs, believe me when I say, this is my favorite fit of pants in my closet! These Amazon mules are the perfect heel to pair with them and make them a more wintery feeling with the hunter-green color.
For winter and the colder temps, you can swap the mule or heel and try a high shaft boot. This is my tip for any straight leg or wide leg jean which you can check out here.
Add A Cropped Sweater
Since these pants are a high rise, and a bit on the wider side, I like to keep the top half of my outfit more cropped and closer to my body if I can. Leave the oversized long sweater in the closet, and instead try something a bit cropped. Or at the very least, one that can do the slight front french tuck. Cropped sweaters don’t have to bare your midriff, but they can help balance out the wider pant on a wide leg or even just a straight leg jean.
Add A Long Layer
To pull the outfit together and add your third piece, go for a duster length coat. This can be a cardigan too, but I prefer a nice coat. This camel duster-length long coat is the perfect addition to pull it together. This outfit would feel off-balance if I added a mid-thigh coat to it. Instead, opt for long lines to lengthen your body.
How To Wear White Denim In The Winter
I have a few easy tips and tricks to making sure you can pull this trend off. Yes, you can wear white denim in the winter. Just stick to seasonal fabrics and if you can, seasonal colors. The seasonal color rule is not a firm one. I love the color lilac, so I actually own several sweaters and even a blazer coat in this color. I love it paired with white denim even in the winter. The balance then comes from the shoe, a brown leather or suede boot completes that look with ease!
