I’ll never forget the moment I had my eyebrows properly filled in. I was getting my makeup done for a Mary Kay event in Dallas and I was floored when I saw what a difference it made. As someone with dark eyebrows that are fairly full, I never really thought I needed to still do something to them. But it really does make such a difference in completing your look. Whether I do a full face of makeup or not, my face doesn’t feel complete without it.
IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil Review
The one product I’ve sworn by for years (and has actually lasted me years too) is my IT Cosmetics Brow Power pencil. It is hands down the best pencil, easiest to use and stays put. It comes in several colors, but the universal taupe works for just about everyone. It’s also one of the few beauty products I truly swear by and wouldn’t dare leave the house without (especially with a full face of makeup!).
How To Use The IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Using this pencil is super easy. I’ve found the pencil is the ideal thickness for creating the perfect brow with ease. I have found other pencils to be too thin and making it more challenging to do this process more easily and quickly. I think the thinner pencils are for people who are more advanced with the eyebrow filling in. The above photos are my eyebrows with absolutely nothing. Let me show you how I use this pencil.
TIP: If you’re unsure of where you should fill in your eyebrows, from where they should start, end and where the arch should be, this is a great tutorial.
Step One – Brush Your Brows
Before you do your brows, you’ll want to make sure you brush them out. This alone makes a difference for my longer brows (I have to trim mine often!). The IT Cosmetics Brow Power has a spoolie on one end making this easy to do. Brush in the direction the hair grows and trim if you need to.
Step Two – Fill In Your Brows
I like to start at the innermost part of my brows and try to bring them out so it lines up with my nose. So if you were to hold the pencil vertically against my nose, you’ll want to try to fill into that spot. I do vertical strokes to gently fill these in. You can build up the color and pigment here as much or as little as you like.
I then like to move towards the top of my arch. I prefer to avoid the bottom part of my eyebrow. You never want to narrow the space between your brow and eyeball. So I just clean up the top part to give it a more profound angle.
before & after
Here you can easily see the before and after. The brow on the left has been filled in with the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil and the brow on the right is my au natural brow. My brow feels more filled in and a bit more shapely. After filling in my second eyebrow, you can see the fully filled-in brows below. What a difference this makes, right?
