With spring break around the corner, easy beach coverups are a must to shop for. Personally, I have struggled finding coverups I really love. I’m anti kimonos, and not a big fan of any sort of tunic. That pretty much narrows the search down quite a bit. In my closet, I had a handful of dresses that I used as coverups but they were not really great. And they were not colors I ever wear anymore (sherbert orange and teal blue…). I’ve been on the hunt for some new coverups and I found several that I love.
While this one has been a favorite for years, that’s sort of the problem. It’s my only one! While browsing for coverups before my little solo getaway to San Juan, I found a few beautiful coverups at J.Crew. A store I don’t often do well at. But honestly, their latest collections have been so good. I’m definitely giving this store a chance this year for sure.
J.Crew Cover Ups For Summer
This two piece cover up set was perfect for my beach getaway. It’s great together as an outfit like I’ve styled here today. Add a denim jacket and pretty bag and you’ve got a great outfit for your beach trip. But for the pool, I just popped this maxi skirt on over my swimsuit for an easy coverup. I can never figure out sarong wraps and found this was just an easy way to have a skirt to pull on and pull off with ease. Pair it with a one piece swimsuit for a complete look you can totally wear around town too.
As for the top, this is so cute with the skirt as originally intended, but would be great with high-rise denim jean shorts or even white denim. Matching sets are great for mixing and matching which also makes it a great option for packing on a trip. You can get several looks out of it and not have to pack a ton.
This particular print is sold out, but this gingham version is super similar! Shop it here.
In addition to this little matching set, there are some really cute coverups at J.Crew right now. I also have this oversized long button-down tunic. I usually don’t love a tunic, but since this is a button-down style I really like it. This can also be worn as is, or knotted at the waist and worn with denim cut-offs. Below are a few other favorite beach cover-ups that I’m losing from J.Crew.
How I’m Styling This Set
A denim jacket over a spring or summer dress is a no-brainer in my book. I have several different fits and washes based on my mood or style of the outfit. Added some gladiator lace up sandals and a big woven beach bag. This one is super old from H&M, but Nordstrom has a super similar one here. Shop this entire look below.
