Jessica’s Favorite Amazon Things Volume 6
I’ve been ordering from Amazon a lot more than usual thanks to my recent move. Anytime you move you are bound to have to buy new things. From organization to furniture and other home essentials. Sadly not everything from your old place may fit in the new one. And in my case, not a lot of stuff fit in the mini-van!
While I did bring as much as I could from Atlanta to the new NYC apartment, there are new challenges and spaces to figure out. Which has resulted in a lot of Amazon ordering for home essentials.
Here are some of my recent Amazon buys that I’m just so glad I invested in lately. Most of these are really great for upgrading and organizing your home. PS you can browse all my favorite Amazon home purchases are here and I will definitely be adding quite a few of these to that list! And as always, you can browse the previous volumes of Jessica’s Amazon Favorite Things here.
Jessica’s Amazon Favorite Things Volume 6
No matter if you live in a walking city or not, I think having a good pair of just cheap affordable rainboots is a good idea. You never know when you’ll need them. I grabbed these fun olive colored ones and they are super cute in real life. The reviews said they ran narrow, so I went with a 9 instead of my usual 8 and I’m glad I did.
With minimal space in the kitchen, a lazy susan was a must. And I can’t believe I’ve been living without one! It’s so fun to spin to see the things in my cabinet. This one came with two, I may use the second one in my bathroom cabinet to store beauty products.
Motion Sensor Ceiling Light
My NYC closets have no lights inside and it makes finding what you need a bit of a challenge. In the daytime it’s no big deal. But when it’s gloomy out, or at night, impossible. I like a bright closet and so I grabbed this motion sensor ceiling light.
While it comes with a hanging kit to screw into the wall, my walls are a bit difficult, so I just used this 3M tape. Easy enough! It’s super bright (I tried another popular one on Amazon and HATED it). Highly recommend this for added light where you may not have any!
Rolling Laundry Basket
This is the best rolling laundry basket I have found. It rolls wonderfully, it’s spacious enough for about three loads of laundry, four if you pile it up. I also like that the basket liner can be washed.
As someone who hasn’t had laundry in unit since college, I have become an expert in rolling laundry baskets. They must be sturdy enough to roll around the building, and large enough to hold your 3-4 loads of laundry. Plus, they must also be compact enough. I don’t have space for a giant one with separate sections.
Arched Floor Mirror
My bedroom was in need of a good full-length mirror. While I meant to order a rectangular one because I’m thinking an arched armoire would be nice in there, I completely forgot and now this is in the room! I love it and it’s the taller option (71 inches) which I prefer in a full length mirror.
I was holding onto my AirPods for dear life. So much so that I had them refurbished because the battery life wasn’t great. I refused to replace them until a recent Amazon Prime Day. And my goodness was I missing out.
The noise canceling is absolutely top notch especially when traveling. I couldn’t believe how loud planes were until I got those. Hot tip, the ear piece comes in a few different sizes that are in the package. I had no idea until my friend told me when I was complaining that they kept falling out.
An over the door shoe rack is a must for me right now. I tried this one that has netting and metal rods which I found way better than simply metal rods. I also skipped a row at the bottom of the shoe rack so that I could put some ankle boots on the bottom row.
Ribbon For My Christmas Tree
I am on a mission to create the most joyful Christmas tree. I tried tinsel this past holiday, jury is still out on how I feel about it. But what I did love were all the velvet ribbons I bought and made into sweet little bows for my tree. I love how it turned out.
For my tree, I went with a few colors. I got this thick ribbon in red. And then filled in the rest with a 3/8 inch velvet ribbon in blue, orange, pink and more red. I think the only thing missing from my tree now is some solid colored ball ornaments and a tree skirt. Currently using a random blanket and it is definitely time for something new.
Huggable Hanger Clips
I don’t know why I never just bought a package of these before. I just sort of kept figuring out how to manage the ones I already had and that was that. Finally got a pack of them to hang up more things in my new closets. And yes, if you haven’t switched to Huggable Hangers or velvet hangers yet, now’s the time!
