Jessica’s Favorite Amazon Things Volume 2
I did a few kitchen upgrades recently thanks to Amazon. From a great pot for soups and stews, to new cake pans I am literally DYING to try. I also tested out a new beauty product and added a few new spring accessories to my closet.

Jessica’s Favorite Amazon Things Volume 2
Kindle Paperwhite
Finally bit the bullet and bought myself a Kindle. I talked to several friends who own them and they just swore it was the best. I find I just enjoy being on a device (how sad, right?) and think this is a good way for me to read more. Plus, I love that when I travel I can bring several books and they don’t weigh me down!
My goal is to keep this in my bag as well when I know I’m going to be heading to an appointment or something so I can read and not scroll my phone. Yes, I have the Kindle app on my phone, but I really prefer the paper-like screen versus the bright iPhone screen when it comes to reading for long periods of time.
As someone who swore that flipping pages of a physical book was superior and that there was NO way in hell I’d want another device, I regrettably was 100% wrong. I get why my friends are obsessed. They were right, I was wrong.
Kitchen Spider Strainer
I went to make pasta one night and it required moving the pasta from the water to a saucepan. A pasta fork just doesn’t work except for spaghetti or linguini. So I finally grabbed a spider that allows you to grab fried things or pasta shapes out of the oil or water into whatever you need.
New Cake Pans
For my birthday this year, I went to make a very simple funfetti boxed cake mix. I used my 9 inch round cake pans and was just so disappointed in how flat and sad the cakes were. A pastry chef who follows me on Instagram told me to try 8 inch pans, and taller ones.
She had also said doing three 6 inch pans are great for a fun tall cake that looks fancier than it is! So I finally invested in some better cake pans and a few fun options.
Farberware Stainless Steel Pot
This was actually a gift from my mom. All of my pots and pans are non-stick and nothing gets a good sear. So it was time for a stainless steel pot. The 6 quart pot is great for making my meat sauce in so the sausage gets a good sear. And I also have the 8 quart which allows me to make giant pots of soup or boil spaghetti easily. This pot, plus a couple of different-sized frying pans and a small sauce pot, is really all you need! Browse my kitchen essentials here.
Parchment Paper Sheets
Why is there nothing harder than cutting a piece of parchment paper to place on a cookie sheet or in a loaf pan? I decided to try these pre-cut sheets and it is GLORIOUS. They don’t roll up when you place them in a loaf pan or on a cookie sheet, and they are just easier to deal with. Sure I like my silicone baking liners, but these are also great for loaf and brownie pans.
Green Acrylic Handbag
It’s been a while since I updated my fun handbags. I recently purged a bunch of mini clutches and things that I just haven’t used or need anymore. And honestly, don’t fit a big iPhone anymore. I grabbed this fun green acrylic handbag and I just love it. I’m bringing it with me to Charleston for a fun trip. It also comes in a marbled white and brown.
Schutz Verona Sandals
Grabbed a new pair of spring heels from Schutz and I just love these. They are definitely a knock off of the Loeffler Randall ones, but they are one third of the price. They also come in a flat version which are super cute.
Ugg Slippers
I have to replace my Ugg slippers about every year and a half or so. I was finally due and went ahead with rebuying the same pair. They’re just so comfortable and cozy. I love them so much and live in them when I’m at home.
L’Oreal Mascara Primer
This was a restock for me. My L’Oreal mascara primer is a holy grail product. I can’t live without it. And I really don’t think there’s any reason to buy a fancier beauty brand. It does the job and it’s super affordable.
Paula’s Choice Exfoliant Toner
Having a toner in your skincare routine is key. And I was long overdue as my old toner ran out months ago. I had heard really great things about this one which helps to exfoliate and is great for those with oily skin. I’ve been liking it and will definitely be rebuying it.
