Throughout the last year I was living in my Lou & Grey sweatpants. These joggers were everything to me. I quickly become Lou & Grey’s biggest fan and had to have them in every color. And I wore them every single day while staying home, avoiding a once in a century pandemic. I wore them as real pants to the store, to sleep in, and to work from home in. They were my security blanket and they were just so good.
Well now we’re in warmer months and I refuse to put on a pair of sweatpants. It’s far too warm for that now. So my very large collection of sweats and joggers have officially been retired. Which means, insert all the sweatshorts. I’ve been collecting a few of these as well over the last year from these Madewell tie-dye ones, and these from Aerie. But I have to be honest, the Lou & Grey ones yet again reign supreme.
And yes, I’ll be wearing them as real clothing to the store, to lunch or other errands. Because after 2020, sweats are real clothes, period. And no one can change my mind on that.
Lou & Grey Summersoft Collection
For summer, Lou & Grey has come out with a Summersoft collection. It’s a lighter take on their Signature Softblend. Which is what my go-to joggers were made out of. They also have a shorts version which I of course also have and love. But the Summersoft Collection is just a tad lighter, more breezy and flowy, and just feels amazing. They’re perfect for warmer months while still embracing that sweatpants trend we all feel so attached to now. The Summersoft Lou & Grey Collection also includes joggers so if you still want a pant but in a lighter fabric, this is the way to go. And you have to of course complete the look with a matching pullover. This is super lightweight, a little oversized, and just perfect. They also offer a zip-up if that’s more your style.
I grabbed this set in both the olive green and the seaside sand. It also comes in a pink but it’s a little TOO pink for me, personally. And of course, to style them is super easy. I’ve shared how to style sweatshort sets here to make them feel more like a complete outfit. But today I’m styling these up with my newest denim shacket. No, not a jacket, it’s a shacket! A shirt meets jacket and its perfection. Picked this up from Abercrombie & Fitch in a size small for a new take on my favorite closet staple.

Lou & Grey Summersoft Sizing
A few notes on sizing for both the shorts and the pullover. They both definitely run a tad bigger than the Signature Softblend collection for both top and bottom. But I still did a small in both like I did the original. If you’re inbetween sizes, you may want to size down. I’m usually a true small in everything at LOFT and Lou & Grey so didn’t feel a need to size down.
The inseam on the shorts is one inch longer than the Signature collection. Which I actually prefer. And the dolphin hem (I think that’s what you’d still call it for these?) makes it feel a bit sexy showing some leg even though it’s a longer inseam. I find these are to be much more comfortable and relaxed and find myself grabbing these more than my Signature shorts.
