I was introduced to the M.M.LaFleur brand back in 2018 when they had a pop-up here in Atlanta. While I was super impressed with the quality and fit of everything. Over the years, their collection has grown and so has my love for this brand.
While I may not work in an office anymore, I still have found incredible everyday pieces from M.M.LaFleur that I can wear in my day to day life. The fit, the quality and the timelessness of their pieces are what has made me brand loyal.
Since I get so many questions about investing in quality pieces and also having a well-rounded capsule for work and for everyday life, I had to write a full review of M.M.LaFleur. If this brand is not yet on your radar, now’s the time!
M.M.LaFleur Review
This review will cover the backstory of the brand M.M.LaFleur and what they stand for. As I think that is truly a big part of why I love the brand so much. We’ll dive into my favorite pieces that I have and love, as well as fit and sizing. Plus, their best sellers. After several years of trying out different styles and fits, I’m so excited to provide you all with my M.M.LaFleur review.
What Is MMLaFleur
M.M.LaFleur was founded by Sarah LaFleur who was looking for stylish yet practical workwear. Practical. It’s one of my favorite words, I hate fussy things that feel complicated. She teamed up with Miyako Nakamura and Narie Foster to launch the M.M.LaFleur brand in 2013.
The designs are always created with three things in mind. Style, comfort and functional details. In fact, the functional details are one of the reasons why I love this brand. Their attention to little details that make a big impact are why I end up raving about a piece.
Like their pants with adjustable hems that you can shorten and lengthen in a snap. To hidden buttons on button downs to prevent gaping. And machine-washable fabrics which mean less trips to the dry cleaners.
And while yes, I do feel like a majority of their pieces are more for an office or corporate environment, I wouldn’t overlook this brand. I do not go into an office ever. At all. In fact, I work from home and have pieces from M.M.LaFleur that I love.
Their Power Casual mentality of having pieces that feel elevated and ready for the office, but can easily be dressed down casually for a solid work-life balance, is why I’m a fan.
M.M.LaFleur Sustainability
One of the things I know shoppers are looking for more often now are sustainable clothing brands. Sustainable fashion is going to usually be a bit more expensive. The idea is to use more sustainable fabrics and manufacturing processes, and have pieces that last.
Fast fashion is the biggest factor in textile waste. And while you may not have a piece forever, I love that M.M.LaFleur launched Second Act in 2021. This is a resale site of M.M.LaFleur pre-loved pieces.
M.M.LaFleur is also working to increase their recycled materials through their collection. From their recycled Wondertex that uses plastic bottles. Or their washable silk which is produced in a factory that uses solar energy and recycled 90% of the water used.
There’s also their Eco Soft Wave which is mad eof 35% recycled materials and is also treated with Polygiene®, an anti-odor finish. Meaning you can get a few wears before needing to wash as your clothes won’t hold a smell.
M.M.LaFleur Sizing
For sizing at M.M.LaFleur I find that it runs fairly true to size. I’m 5’5 and wear a 32DD cup size. I am typically in a size 4 in most brands. And a small or medium top depending on how fitted it is around the chest and ribs.
I wear a 27, size 4 and small in all things Madewell for reference. And in M.M.LaFleur I find myself in a size 4 for most skirts and pants (I take a 6 in the Curie, listed below). And for dresses, I have found my larger size to be more comfortable. While a 4 usually fits, the 6 just sometimes fits more comfortably.
For tops, I find that I’m usually more comfortable in my larger size except in the fitted long sleeves. Details listed in each category below for more sizing tips by style.

The Curie Pant
A great work pant that you can dress up or down. I styled these MMLaFleur pants a few ways. From casual with a loafer and oversized sweater, to a blazer and heels. They really are such a great pair and are also made in their PowerSretch fabric. Which helps to hold its shape and is wrinkle-resistant. So I’d suggest sizing up to your larger size in these.
I also loved that they had a little zipper at the ankle that you an unzip a bit. It’s just an interesting detail that makes them feel more elevated. Plus, these pants come in two inseams to get the perfect fit.

The O’Hara Blazer & Other Third Pieces
I have the O’Hara blazer in a classic plaid sharkskin and the houndstooth. The houndstooth is in their stretch fabric which is just so beyond comfortable. I take my usual size 4 in the blazers and find them to be just right for layering. This blazer also comes in several prints and solid color options as well.
A few other best sellers in their jackets and third pieces include their Merritt Jardigan which is a cardigan meets blazer. For a more classic one button blazer, try the Yiyan blazer that comes in lots of colors.
Also, this sleeveless trench is actually a dress, but I love to wear it open as a third piece. The Marcella dress runs a tad large so if you’re in-between sizes, take your smaller/regular size.

The Pima Cotton Collection
As a former t-shirt sales rep in my previous career, I can tell you that Pima cotton is the absolute best. And everything I have from the Pima collection at M.M.LaFleur is just so good. I find myself reaching for these pieces the most when I need a soft comfortable t-shirt. Pima is a really high-quality cotton that is insanely soft.
A few favorite styles include the Marcia for a great fall and winter long-sleeve staple and you’ll see me wearing it all the time. The Soyoung is a 3/4 length and I actually wear it a lot under sweaters and also by itself.
And the Leslie t-shirt is a fantastic everyday crew neck tee. I’d size up in the Leslie, but take your usual size in the Marcia and Soyoung. The Remington henley is also another great long sleeve option. All of these styles also come in several colorways to choose from.

M.M.LaFleur Dresses & Skirts
For the best work dresses, try the Etsuko dress. It’s the perfect dress to add to your work wardrobe. I also love the Cassandra dress which can be worn like a dress, or open like a long vest. The Nene slip midi dress is also a personal favorite. I’ve never had a slip dress fit more perfectly!
And I’m of course a fan of the Gwynn dress which is a blazer dress as seen here. You can style this blazer dress a few ways from dressed up or more business casual. I also have the Whitney skirt in the both the vegan leather (it’s so good, see it here) and the houndstooth.

Tops & Blouses
I’m not a big blouse person so I have not really dove into the blouses at M.M.LaFleur. In fact, I am more likely to grab a crisp blazer to pair with a relaxed tee. M.M.LaFleur has lots of great basics like washable silk tanks and blouses, as well as printed tops, poplin button-downs and even sweaters and pullovers. There’s even loungewear!

Sweaters & Knitwear
I am a picky person when it comes to sweaters. I find just about any amount of cashmere or wool itchy as can be. So far, I haven’t had an issue with M.M.LaFleur’s sweaters. For sizing, I usually take a medium in their sweaters.
One of my favorites in my closet is the popcorn sweater, it’s the perfect for throwing over your shoulders.

Is MM LaFleur Worth The Price
The question I always get asked, is if M.M.LaFleur is worth the price. Yes, this is definitely going to be a more expensive brand for trousers and workwear, and everyday tees than let’s say LOFT or Express.
But if you’re looking for a higher quality brand, better fit and fabrics, I really think this is worth the price for the quality of the pieces. If you’re someone who also travels a lot for work, these pieces are really ideal for throwing in a suitcase, and not having to worry about wrinkles. So many of the fabrics are wrinkle resistant and can be worn mulitple ways to create lots of outfits.
And I always urge my followers who are considering spending a little more on clothing, to think about how often we spend hundreds on a one time dress. Those dresses we were to a formal wedding, and never think to wear again. Investing in those everyday pieces you’ll wear over and over is something we tend to overlook.
I think this is definitely a brand for someone who is looking to invest in high quality basics for their wardrobe as well as up their 9-5 work wardrobe. These will be pieces you can wear for years to come.
