I was so excited when my photographer Janelle texted me that she’d be heading to NYC during fashion week. I love getting to work with her and hang out so this was so great to be able to capture my looks with my favorite photographer. Last year between the awful weather, and my even more terrible outfits that I packed, I didn’t capture ANY looks. So when we met up to shoot the outfits I had planned for NYC, we headed to by Chloe. It’s a super cute vegan restaurant in Greenwich Village that just so happened to match my B&W look. I grabbed a cranberry ginger lemonade to cool off and it was to die for.
Madewell Windowpane Skirt
Sure I wish this was a little more of a glamorous look, but let me tell ya, I was so stoked to be COMFORTABLE. The sweat factor is a whole other thing that was a constant struggle while in the city (hello 95 and TONS of humidity), but the comfort was just right. While packing for NYC I tried to stick to mostly black and white this go around. I thought it would be the easiest way to pack shoes and accessories. Plus I just wasn’t feeling like much color for some reason. Before I knew it most of the things I was grabbing were black or white, so I ran with it.
The nice thing about this whole look in my Madewell windowpane skirt, is that it was easy to go from day to night in. I just swapped out my Adidas for these Express heels. Done! I love a versatile outfit with just the simple swap of a shoe. You can also add a black moto jacket or blazer to pull it together. Windowpane is such a simple, yet interesting print and I just love how interesting it feels without being over the top.
