The LAST piece of furniture I still have from college is my Target media console. It’s black, cheap, shows dust VERY easily and is simply lame. I also hear it creak and crack every once in a while and I’m convinced it’s going to collapse on me one day. Partially because I put it together without reading instructions (standard). And let’s be honest, there were a few screws left.
I finally updated my TV stand a few weeks ago and am super excited about it. It ended up being less expensive than the original Target piece. I went with this CB2 media console. It’s sleek, simple, and bonus points has wheels. Which means I can easily push it out of the way to use this big wall for a backdrop. Yes, those are weird blogger problems. But see exhibit A where I had my AHA moment of pushing my media console out of the way to use for a backdrop, not bad right?
Now that I’ve finally updated my media stand, it makes the whole space feel lighter since it’s so airy and spacious. The open design is perfect for my small space. Plus the room is now also brighter since it’s not a huge piece of dark furniture. But the only thing I have left to do now is to style it.
Today I’m gathering some inspiration from Pinterest for some weekend shopping and styling. A few things I’ve noticed about all my discoveries is to try to work the TV in as naturally as possible. Almost treat it like a piece of art. A gallery wall around the television is kind of a fun idea. And styling pretty vignettes around it makes it feel less like a boring black TV. Here are some design ideas to inspire your TV area!
