This look is similar to one I wore many many years ago on the blog. First of all, crazy to think this blog has even been around for there to be years of content (maybe that’s just me?!). Second, it’s nice to see that one thing has stayed true for me, navy is seriously my favorite color. I often say that things are my favorite. It’s an adjective I use way too losely sometimes. My sister always calls me out for it. But navy, I think we can all agree that I love navy. Navy sweater, navy rain boots, navy coats and navy dresses. Oh and a navy bedroom wall. Yup, navy is my color you guys!
There’s a few reasons why I love navy. It looks and feels rich and luxurious. It’s not your standard black that everyone always wears. It’s easy to fall into an all black rut. And although I love black, I hate it against my dark hair. So navy is a better option for me as it creates more contrast. You blondes with your all black looks, I envy you. Navy also works all year round and with lots of great complimentary colors. I personally love it with blush (great for summer), or a good marigold like I have in my bedroom. It also looks great with black, brown and grey. So there you have it, it basically goes with everything you guys. If you ask me, it’s more versatile than black.
Another thing that is truly my favorite lately though is Abercrombie. You’ve heard me rave about it last week when I wore this fun camo sweatshirt. I couldn’t believe this little pleated dress was from there. It originally came with a little fabric belt to tie around the waist. But it didn’t feel very me. I tossed it and just decided to create a little structure with a moto jacket. This will also be super cute with a boyfriend blazer for fall and booties. If I end up wanting to create more of a shape with the dress I can always add a real belt like my favorite leather one.
