My fingers are extra crossed that the weather after this week is going to be gone for good. Because this gal is ready for all the fall things! I’ve been putting this post to good use with all of my warm-weather tips for fall. But I can only keep this going for so long. This outfit is truly the perfect look for fall if you ask me. Navy trench coat, yes, please. Leopard, duh. Jeans and gold? Hell yeah.
I think if you were to ask me what my go-to color palette is, this is it to a tee. When I saw this navy trench coat with brown piping, I knew it would be ideal for fall. A lightweight jacket is perfect in the South to help transition your wardrobe from summer to fall. I can put my winter coats away for a long time and use a trench until it’s really necessary. And with the right layering, I can get a lot of use out of it. Although, this leopard coat I’m just dying to wear all the time! Basically, give me all the coats!
Why Your Closet Needs A Navy Trench Coat
As someone who doesn’t wear a ton of black, navy is a really nice alternative. For me, it’s more flattering on my skintone and doesn’t make me feel washed out like black can. Especially as we head into cooler months as we lose a bit of our summer glow, black can feel extra harsh. Trying navy instead is one of my favorite styling tricks.
A navy trench coat can work with so much of your closet too. It goes nicely with all the denim, the earth tones, camel and khaki. I styled it here with this mustard gold blouse which is a really nice compliment to the navy. Add some leopard and you’re good to go.
Also, a navy trench just feels like a really cool and fresh update to a classic camel trench coat. While we usually wear trench coats in the fall and early spring to transition from winter to the warmer season, navy feels luxurious and also more colorful and exciting than just black or camel. So step outside your classic colors and try a navy trench this season.
