My last cocktail of the year and just in time for New Years Eve that’s right around the corner. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I hate NYE. It’s a mess of a night where you spend way too much money, get way too drunk and your whole next day is wasted in bed watching The Hangover on repeat while ordering pizza. Truth, I spent my NYE like that 2 years ago.
So this year I plan to head to my friend’s house and sit, relax, not get wasted, and most definitely not spend a ton of money. I was going to host at my place, but you know the whole 1 bedroom 1 bath thing wasn’t a big seller with my friends. So we opted to head to someone in the group who’s clearly an adult and has a house. One day….one day….
A New Years Eve Cocktail
To still make a night at home feel special, I’ll be preparing this little cocktail to ring in the new year. It’s festive, easy and delicious. All I did was take a few cranberries and muddle them with a little sugar and rosemary sprig. Then I topped each glass with a few cranberries and a little sprig of fresh rosemary. You can add a little champagne to the cocktail shaker to help get things moving along too. It’s super simple and a great way to spruce up cheap champagne. It also looks so festive with the cranberries topped (hint, freeze them ahead of time to help keep champagne cold) and a sprig of rosemary. There’s something about sipping on a cocktail with fresh herbs right on top that really make me happy.
Ingredients
- Champagne
- Cranberries
- Rosemary
- Sugar
Method
Add cranberries, rosemary and a little sugar to your glass. You can also do this in a shaker if you want. Muddle these together and then add a bit of champagne to loosen everything up and strain it into a champagne flute. Top with champagne and a sprig of rosemary and sugared cranberries.
