It seemed like over the last few years I had numerous reasons to visit New York City. Whether for my old day job for meetings or tradeshows, to visiting family or attending a blog event or meetings. I always found myself in one of my favorite cities for one reason or another a couple times a year. This year though, things haven’t played out like that. I’m not complaining, as these trips have been replaced with other visits. Like multiple trips to San Francisco and Chicago. But I have to say, after not going all year, I’m starting to crave a trip!
A lot of people think I’m actually Canadian, I’m not. I lived in Montreal as a kid from the age of 3 to 10. I was born in New York. Right outside the city. Although I didn’t spend a ton of time in NY or NYC as I grew up, we visited often to see family. Holidays, summers, spring breaks. You name it we usually drove the 6 hours to see everyone as often as possible. As I got older, I went on my own trips to visit NYC. It’s truly one of my favorite places to be. I rarely feel like I “fit in” in the south. But something about being in NYC I just feel like I fit in. I’m surrounded by Italians and Jews (I’m half of each!), hustle and bustle, all my favorite things. Plus, they just get the northern sarcasm unlike the south sometimes…
So with no plans to visit anytime soon, I’m wondering if I’ll get to visit the big apple in 2017 or not. So if you can help me come up with a good excuse, I’m all ears. Also, I’d love to know what are your favorite places to visit in NYC or if you have any travel guides to there. It’s nice to visit new places in a city you’ve been to time and time again.
PS this cute cropped tee is under $8 and available in all sizes. Told you last week I wasn’t kidding about Abercrombie being my new favorite spot! And if you’re into the mule trend like I am, check out these favorites that are under $100.
