Taking a dress from summer to fall is one of my favorite styling tricks. And just being able to style pieces dressed up or dressed down is key. It’s so easy and helps to extend your closet. For me personally, I don’t have a ton of fall dresses, so getting some use out of pieces like this always makes me really happy. Feels like I’m not wasting my money on pieces! This little puff sleeve dress is in such a pretty golden brown color. And has me feeling so ready for fall.
Puff Sleeve Dress Styled Two Ways
This dress is a bit of a shirt dress style. It’s definitely got a bit of a fun edge to it with the cool sleeves. And I’m taking a few tips from that post to style this little dress for warm fall days and well into cooler temps into the season.
Dressed Down With High Tops
I knew I instantly wanted to dress this puff sleeve dress down with classic sneakers. I’ve been gravitating towards my high-top Converse more and more and it just gives an extra bit of edge to an outfit than my classic platform ones. For late summer and even early fall, I think a jute or woven bag like this still works. I’m going to definitely be using this well into fall and think it’s 100% acceptable.

Cool Girl Fall With Boots And Leather
To take this into cooler weather and make it feel more fall-like, just add boots. A black suede boot screams fall and make any little mini so much more fun. I love the combination and is one of my favorite style tricks to feel ready for the fall season. But also, swap the belt!
When dresses like this come with a belt, I like to swap it out sometimes. It makes it feel more interesting and different. By adding a black leather belt, it adds some contrast to the brown and ties in the boots. Plus, this one (it’s a dupe of the Isabel Marant Lecce belt but is sadly sold out — this one’s very similar) adds some interest too with the cool knot. There are some really fun belts out there right now from cool knotted ones, to even western styles with interesting buckles. This cool one reminds me of mine with a little something extra! And this one is super cool, may need to add this to my closet! Belts are having a major moment so now’s the time to grab one for dresses like this.
