I don’t know what came over me, but I have been on a crazy hunt for a great romper and jumpsuits. Seeing a few of my favorite style bloggers in utility-inspired jumpsuits like Camille and Ailsa had me itching to try this trend out. They inspired me to finally pull the trigger on one. Well okay, a few. I also loved this one but it’s much more relaxed and less utility-inspired. But I really wanted a true classic utility or coverall style romper. Something that totally felt like I should be painting in, you know? After ordering what seemed like dozens and finally learning I actually have a semi-longer torso, I landed on this Pistola Denim one. And for reference, I sized up to a medium in this one thanks to my new longer torso discovery.
Pistola Denim is a new to me brand actually. I randomly bought this star print utility jacket from them a little while ago as a nice update to all my other utility jackets that are print-less. Loved the fit, the fabric and the price point. Then saw this lilac utility romper and had my fingers crossed that it would work. I’m a bit of a sucker for a good lilac moment. I don’t know why since I typically hate purple. But the juxtaposition of a feminine hue and a more utility-inspired look was perfection.

Styling this romper was super easy. Part of the reason why I think I love these is that they are so easy to style. A one-and-done kind of outfit. Almost more simple than a dress since they don’t usually require a belt. Just added my Veja sneakers for a casual spring outfit. This utility romper would also be cute with a simple sandal or slide. And really any other sneaker in my closet. Thinking Reeboks, my platform Converse or these Madewell Trainers in the all-white combo would be a good option too.
