Many of you know I’m a CrossFit addict (as seen here) and although I don’t practice Paleo 100% (bacon for every meal has clearly caused me to pack on some lbs) I do try to be more conscious about what I put into my body. So when I heard there was a vodka that was made from sweet potato and not grains, I jumped for joy. I couldn’t wait to try out a fun recipe!
This Holiday Harvest Punch was the right amount of fall spices to warm me up on these chilly nights. Plus, everyone has canned yams in their cupboard this time of year, so this is a great way to use them in a fun new way.
This is
INGREDIENTS
- 1 chunk of canned yams (yes canned yams, just take one of those chunks in there and shove it in your shaker) Dash of ground ginger
- Dash of nutmeg Dash of ground cloves
- Dash of cinnamon 1.5 oz of apple cider 1.5 oz of Corbin Sweet Potato Vodka (you can sub any plain vodka here, but the sweet potato is perfection)
- Splash of ginger beer (ginger ale works just fine here too, but I prefer the spicier flavor of ginger beer)
METHOD
In a shaker, muddle the yams with a little bit of the juice from the can.
Then add ice, spices (you can even just use pumpkin pie spice since it’s basically all of those spices in one handy dandy jar) cider and vodka.
Shake vigorously to help incorporate the yam into your cocktail. Pour over ice and add a good splash of ginger beer.
I like to spruce this up by adding a cinnamon sugar rim. Cheers to the weekend and enjoy!
