I’ve been a fan of Reformation for years but never took the plunge. Years ago I tried on a few pieces while in NYC one afternoon but hated how it all fit. Then in San Francisco a few months back I tried it again at Nordstrom. Hated it there too. I don’t know what the deal was, I loved their styles, loved how people wore them, but they just weren’t working for me. Then I decided one afternoon to place an order online at Nordstrom and try it again. Couldn’t hurt, right? Well turns out I just needed to size up and embrace the vibe. So say hello to my first ever Reformation wrap dress.
A few things I’ve noticed about trying Reformation pieces is that it runs small. I’m doing a medium here, and usually do a 6 in their other pieces. Sometimes even an 8. They also tend to be completely see-through. Which I find ridiculous for the price of the dress.
But for under $100, I’m letting it slide. Don’t come at me with a $300 dress that requires a slip, nipple pasties and more. That’s too much work for how much you’re paying. Insert my next tip, always buy on sale. While trying on a piece, it literally went on sale the next day. Those are my lessons learned and now I can feel a little more confident shopping this brand I’ve been admiring from afar for so long.
I also picked up this pretty dress which I’ll be honest, wish I did in a medium. Nordstrom shipped it to me with a Nordstrom Rack price tag on it for more than 60% off for what I paid. Price adjustment, and a win! So I guess I’m keeping it since I really should’ve sized up and already wore it. Either way, the moral of the story is, buy Reformation on sale whenever possible and usually try sizing up!
You can check out my Reformation dress sizing review post here and my general Reformation brand size guide here to learn more about fit and sizing. And with many of the Reformation dresses that I now own, I do recommend investing in a few essential undergarments. This post has a few favorites like my lazy SPANX, half slip and my go-to plunge triangle bras.
My First Reformation Wrap Dress Styled Two Ways
Reformation Wrap Dress Styled For Fall
I think dresses are the most versatile things in my closet. I love to style them for spring and summer, and easily take them into fall with easy swaps.
This Reformation mini wrap dress is great for those early fall days when you want to wear your new fall boots but don’t want to die from the heat. This dress works perfectly with some ankle booties and topped with a suede jacket. This is my go to way to wear dresses for fall.
Reformation Wrap Dress Styled For Summer
For summer, this dress just needs a few accessories and it’s good to go! Grab your favorite summer woven bag (these are a few favorites!) and strap on a strappy sandal.
This dress could also work with some sneakers, too. A great white summer sneakers such as platform Converse, Vejas or Supergas would be great! But these nude sandals and Cult Gaia clutch are great for a summer event like a bridal shower, happy hour or a summer date night.
My favorite thing about my favorite Reformation summer dresses is that honestly, a lot of them can work for early fall with ease. So while these dresses are a bit on the pricier side, I always feel like I can get a lot of use out of them with the right styling.
