I haven’t bought work pants for myself in years. I left my day job at least five maybe six years ago. And that job didn’t even require traditional work pants. I could’ve sat in my cubicle in sweatpants and no one would’ve batted an eye. We sold sweatpants, so it was not unusual to see this, actually. As for the last time I wore a suit to work, that was my first job out of college which I hated. Although, I did launch this blog thanks to that job, so it was a win. That was back in 2011 which was a lifetime ago. Since then I just haven’t needed trousers. Until 2022, of course.
Sage Green Trousers For Spring
There are so many new trends happening lately it can be hard to keep up. I’m not usually someone who leans into all the new trends. It can not only be expensive to try them all, but they may not last very long! It really does seem there are so many new trends going on right now. It’s all the crazy 90s stuff, the bold bright colors, and it’s giving me major 90s throwback vibes. Personally, I’m just not into much of it. For me, I learned my skin tone works best with earth tones, or muted tones, so the trendy colors at the moment are already a hard no. No neon or primary colors for me. But one trend I am very much into that I also think I can pull off is the trouser trend.
Trousers To Try For Spring
I set out for a big trouser haul recently and tried many many pairs. I ended up loving two pairs from Aritzia. And now I’m challenging myself to style these more. And leaning into more soft pants instead of denim altogether. While I love my denim, I am just ready for something more comfortable and different right now. And this look, while a bit dressier, is the perfect segue into the trouser trend.

How I’m Styling Mint Trousers For Spring
For this dressed up look, which would be great for a nice lunch with friends, wearing to the office or a meeting, or even heading to a daytime get together like a baby shower or bridal shower. The colors all feel so light and springy in pastels that I think it lends itself perfectly to a daytime event if you’re not looking to wear a dress.
I went all pastel here and added this lilac Reformation tank which is a closet favorite of mine. And topped it with this cream crepe-like material cropped jacket from M.M. LaFleur. I love the shorter length of it. Added my go-to leather belt these days which has a good contrast to all the lighter colors. And for shoes, these are my latest Sarah Flint heels and they are pretty darn comfy.
These trousers are from Aritzia which you can shop here. They’re a mix between a sage or muted minty green. I really love the fit of these and am already ordering more colors. I would size up at least one size. I’m usually a 4 in most bottoms and went with a 6. While the 6 do fit, I feel like with my body shape, they pull a bit around the hips.
The 8s were a tad big, but I think I’m personally going to try the 8s again in a different color and have them taken in at the waist for a perfect fit. I also went for the regular length and for reference, I am 5’5″ but have short legs. If I was going to wear these with my highest heels, I’d definitely go for the long and then have them hemmed if need be. These barely kiss the floor in my low block heel sandals I’m wearing.
