I think you’re either a shorts girl or a dress girl. And I have always been a shorts girl. I like a dress, especially in the summer. But it’s just not something I tend to gravitate to when I want to get ready really quick. I always reach for my shorts drawer that is currently overflowing with options.
From denim cut-offs, to leather shorts, and lots of great linen and cotton ones for spring and summer. Each year I always find myself adding a couple of pairs to the rotation.
This year, I’m all about these Sezane shorts. I now have them in this pretty terracotta red color. And in this khaki and cream stripe. Here’s how I’m styling them.
The Sezane Cedric Shorts Sizing
You hear me talk about Sezane a lot. I am quickly growing my collection of this amazing French fashion brand. And while I typically love their dresses and bags, I am now adding shorts to the mix.
In Sezane, I am always taking my larger size. These Cedric shorts don’t have any give in them though. If your larger size is still a bit snug in Sezane, you may want to go up two sizes. I initially grabbed a US size 8/FR size 40. And while they fit, they were a tad loose so I did go down to my regular larger size.
Definitely a bit tricky with sizing. But with free shipping and free returns, I always suggest grabbing two sizes if you’re not sure.
How I’m Styling My Terracotta Sezane Shorts
Whenever I wear an earthy color like terracotta, or even something like olive, or brown, I instantly default to this combination. Beige or cream, and denim. It’s really the easiest combination.
The Neutral Top
To dress up these shorts I added this pretty button front square neck top. Also from Sezane and is the perfect piece that feels more elevated, but is still just a t-shirt. There are always nicer t-shirt options at Sezane that you can browse here. But any beige or cream top works nicely with an earth tone in my book.
The Third Piece
And to finish off the look, a third piece. And for me that’s more often than not a denim jacket. I’d also style these shorts with my Will jacket or another utility-style jacket. You can even do a blazer too in a contrasting color or a neutral if you like. I’m all about the short suit set, see my ways to style them here.
The Shoes
Since I wanted this look to feel a little more dressed up I went for a heel. I’m so in love with these Schutz bow sandals. They’re definitely a dupe to the Loeffler Randall ones but a third of the price. Super comfy and a perfect neutral heel for spring and summer.
