There’s one sweater that’s been getting a ton of use these days and well friends, this is it. So much that I have another outfit with it coming soon. I also plan on packing it with me to Vermont as the perfect cozy layer. It’s got my favorite colors in it, it’s striped and it’s from Madewell. Basically perfection.
I’ve been wearing all of my sweaters these days with skinny jeans. Decided to try something new and bring out the wide leg. But one question I get often is what are the best shoes for wide leg jeans?!
The wide leg jean is a personal favorite style that I do not wear often enough. In my opinion, they’re more flattering and easier to dress up. Sometimes I struggle with what shoes to wear with them though.
The Best Shoes To Wear With Wide Leg Jeans
Chunky Heels
A chunkier heel tends to compliment the wide silhouette of a wider leg jean. I love a chunky block heel and it can be in a peep toe, a closed toe or a boot. I find that a wide leg also just works well with heels in general so I tend to lean into my heels when I throw on a pair of wide leg jeans or trousers.
For me, a platform chunky shoe just goes so well with a wider leg. But there are plenty of other options too!
Best Ankle Booties For Wide Leg Jeans
An ankle bootie is a great option for your wide leg jeans. They also help to keep your ankles warm in the cold weather. Try a pointed toe ankle bootie, or a western style bootie.
You can also go sexy and sleek in a black leather pointed toe ankle bootie. So many options to choose from. I think a boot pairs really well with wide leg jeans.
Pointed Toe Shoes
A few other styles to wear with wide leg jeans are a pointed toe shoe. It’s a sleek more professional look and can feel a bit more dressy.
Try a black leather pointed toe, a leopard pointed toe pump or even pointed toe booties. I like the point of the toe sticking out from the super wide leg silhouette.
Clogs
Since a super wide leg jean is very much a 70’s boho favorite, it’s no secret that a clog goes great with them. The clunky shoe and boho feel works perfectly with your favorite wide leg 70’s inspired jeans or trousers.
These brown wide leg trousers were a great pairing with a suede clog. I really love that the jean falls over the shoe with its super wide flare. You get just a peak of it when you walk and you can show it off when you sit!
Find The Perfect Height Shoe For Your Wide Leg Jeans
One thing to always keep in mind when finding the perfect shoe for your beloved wide leg jeans (and if they aren’t beloved now, trust me they will be once you find the perfect shoe) is to ensure the hem of your jeans just kiss the ground.
You don’t want your jeans dragging on the floor, or too high that you see your entire shoe. Make sure they just barely touch the ground for a pulled-together polished look.
This may mean that you need to alter the jeans, or have more than one pair depending on which shoes you want to wear. Having a variety of jeans to choose from is always ideal especially if this is a silhouette you really love to wear.
