This might just be my summer uniform. Matching short sets are so easy to throw on for a complete look. And while I’m frustrated with my closet and figuring out my style, I’m realizing a little set is easy and requires no effort. Making this the ideal outfit when you’re not sure what to wear. I found this little striped set at DISSH which is a new to me Australian brand. I am simply in love with it. It’s comfortable, it’s cute, and it’s an easy outfit. A matching casual set is what I think might be what I gravitate toward for summer. Not only can you were it as a set, but great as separates.
Short Sets That Are Easy And Comfortable
The reason why I think I love these short sets is that they are truly easy and comfortable to not only wear, but style. And matching sets feel like you’ve put in effort. It’s very much a full look and a statement if you ask me. Since you can wear them as separates too, you really can get lots of outfits out of them. Which makes them great for extending your closet especially if you’re traveling. Styling it with sneakers is a no brainer for me. But it would also be cute with a little nude or black sandals.
How To Style A Matching Short Set
To style this as is, I’m all about pairing this cotton striped short set with a cool chunky or platform sneaker. Or a simple sandal. So many of my sandals in my closet work with these from easy leather slides, to more chunky edgy ones like Dr Marten’s sandals. I like to aim for a more casual take. You can totally dress this up with a nude high heel sandal or espadrille too. These sets are very versatile!
For a few styling ideas as separates, I’d wear this oversized button-down with denim or cut offs. Kind of like this outfit. Just like any great oversized button-down, they’re easy to throw on over more fitted bottoms to balance it out. And if I was just wearing the pull-on shorts, I’d style with either a simple white tee or tank, or a graphic tee with sneakers. For a third layer to make the outfit a tad more interesting, a denim shacket would be perfect.
DISSH Australian Brand Sizing
For sizing, I went with a 4 at DISSH in the top. The top actually comes with a little matching bralette. Sadly this didn’t fit me at all. As in, even the size 6 that I initially tried did not fit either. Very very small. Oh well. I went with a 6 in the bottoms as I found the elastic to be a tad tight and felt more comfortable in the larger size. A reminder that when you’re shopping you are on an Australian brand’s website. You’ll want to make sure that you are seeing the US size and not the AU size. There is a BIG difference with their sizing. For example, a US 6 is an AU 10. You can even double check their size chart here.
