I am always a fan of a good set. Ones that make me feel put together, yet still casual and comfortable. And that’s exactly why I love the Spanx AirEssentials. This lounge collection from Spanx are perfect for travel, hanging around the house, or quick errands. All while looking and feeling great. This is my honest review of Spanx AirEssentials.

Spanx Air Essentials Review
It’s not uncommon to look for reviews before investing in a purchase, and if that’s you looking to possibly try Spanx Air Essentials, I’m going to fill you in. I’m sharing the sizing, material quality, comfort, wearability and more, so you can make an informed decision before investing in any Spanx AirEssentials items.

What Are Spanx AirEssentials
The AirEssentials loungewear are a collection of premium mix and match tops and bottoms. They’re designed to be super soft, premium styles, that you can mix and match for effortless looks from lounge to errands and travel. They’re designed to look and feel elevated, without looking sloppy. Something sweatpants just can’t ever achieve. The pieces are lightweight and comfortable making them great from spring, summer, fall and winter. With dresses, tees, pants and tops, there’s something for everyone’s personal style.
What Items Are In The Spanx Air Essentials Collection

Slim Straight Pant
These are the pants I’m personally wearing in this post’s photos. They are a tapered straight pant with an elastic waist and pull on design. They are comfortable and feel polished.
Relaxed Tee
The relaxed tee from the AirEssentials collection is a nice slightly oversized fit with a longer short sleeve silhouette. The tee I’m wearing in today’s post is not the Relaxed Tee, instead it is this cropped cotton tee which I love.
Crewneck Tunic and Crewneck
Whether you want a slightly longer fit, or a more natural fit at the hip, there are two crewneck styles to shop in this collection. The tunic option is definitely great if you want a more oversized fit. I think both are great options and it’s really just a personal style preference.
Cardigan
A newer style from the AirEssentials collection, is this really cute v-neck style cardigan. The side slits make it feel modern and has the perfect drape on the body.

Wide Leg Pant
These wide leg pants have a mid-rise and a relaxed fit. This wide leg is relaxed and comfortable and has a drawstring and an 11 inch rise. For inseams, the petite are 30″, regular are 32″, and tall are 35″. I’m 5’5 and found teh regular to be perfect for me.
Dresses
Yes, dresses can be loungewear too. These AirEssential dresses are perfect for lounging, a quick errand, or out to lunch. Some of these styles like this one, are so polished, they could even work for the office or dinner with friends.
Half Zip Sweatshirt
This half zip sweatshirt I think is their most popular style. It’s the one I mostly see people wearing too. It’s a classic style and fit with a half zip and a slightly oversized fit. This style comes in over a dozen colors too.

How Do The Spanx Air Essentials Fit
The fit of all of these pieces feel relaxed, but still have a structured silhouette to an extent. Nothing feels overly sloppy or loose, yet pieces do have a slight drape to them. The AirEssentials fabric almost feels like a more relaxed scuba material. It’s designed to skim the body, and doesn’t cling or get stretched out from wear. Pieces keep their shape which is great.
Spanx AirEssentials Sizing
I am typically a size 28 or 4/6 in most clothing, and a small or medium on top. I found that a size medium worked well for all of the pieces I’ve tried. From their wide leg pants to the slim pant, to the half zip and beyond. I think if you’re in-between sizes, you’ll definitely want to size up.
The size offering in the Spanx AirEssentials start at XS and go up to 3X. Their pants also come in petite, regular and tall to accommodate a wide range of sizes and heights.

Spanx Air Essentials Material
The thing that really makes the AirEssentials so great, is the material. They aren’t a cotton sweatpant, and they aren’t workout leggings. Instead, these are made with the Spanx ultra-drapey spacer fabric that is not only breathable, but light as air. Truly, so lightweight, it feels like it’s just floating on your body. And super soft.
The fabric composition of the collection is 47% Tencel Modal, 46% polyester and 7% elastane. It’s the 7% of stretch that helps to keep the shape of these pieces as you wear them throughout the day so that they don’t sag in the knees or anything. And the Tencel polyester blend gives it a nice soft hand without it feeling flimsy, as it has some weight to it. You simply machine wash cold and tumble dry low. But I personally air dry these to extend the life of them.

Are Spanx Air Essentials Worth It
I know what you’re thinking: Is almost $100 for polyester really worth it? And my honest response? Yes, very much so. These pieces are comfortable, look great, and are also made really well. I think we’re always looking for a nice set of loungewear that really feels elevated, and these truly fit the bill. I think they not only look great, but feel really good too. Also, I like that they have a wide size range, along with inseams.
Spanx also offers a bundle option with their AirEssentials. Buy 2 or more pieces, and get 15% off. Plus, they always do really great sales around the holidays, so definitely keep an eye out for that.
Where To Buy Spanx Air Essentials
Spanx AirEssentials are not only available directly at Spanx.com, but you can also shop a large selection at Nordstrom. This is always nice if you have a Nordstrom card and can earn Nordstrom Notes on your purchases. Lastly, you can also shop the Spanx AirEssentials collection at Bloomingdale’s.
Spanx has been a favorite brand of mine for years. In fact, the popular faux leather leggings were a staple in my closet. So much so that I have a Commando vs Spanx faux leather legging review comparing them. But if I’m being honest, I’m choosing the more comfortable AirEssentials over tight leggings these days. I hope you snag yourself a great set that you can look and feel good in.
