When I think of the things you have to grab for spring, this outfit may sum it up for you pretty easily. A great lightweight jacket that you can throw over dresses and tees (and in military green is a plus in my book), easy basic stripes (duh), light wash boyfriend jeans, a great new bag and done. That’s what you need. And this outfit is it. Quintessential spring look, you’re welcome. A few other favorite spring closet essentials I’d totally vote for are flowy dresses and a good denim pencil skirt. It’s making a huge comeback this season and everyone should get one for their closet. You can see how I styled my new one here and here.
Spring Closet Essentials
Utility Jackets
This outfit is exactly what I think of when it comes to spring closet essentials. Having a great utility jacket that you can layer over jeans and a tee, or over floral dresses, is super easy and versatile.
It’s a great alternative to the denim jacket too. And for a more refreshed shape, you can always try a shacket style that’s a bit looser and oversized. Or try a cropped version!
Striped Tees
When I think of “florals for spring, groundbreaking” a la Devil’s Wear Prada, I instantly feel that way when it comes to striped tees. But it’s juts so true. I would never think to wear a blue and white cotton striped tee in the winter.
But for spring? You bet! I love the contrast of this with the army green utility jacket. You can even do a striped button down as well for a little nicer top option that feels a bit more polished.
Spring Bags
Come spring, I love to swap my bag out for something lighter! Choosing lighter shades of brown leather, or even woven or straw fabrics. These instantly update a basic outfit and scream spring! Here are some of my favorite spring bags to try.
