Last year with the pandemic, my loungewear collection grew more than I care to admit. I started collecting so many hoodies and sweatshirts that it took over my closet. I’ll be honest, none were really *that* great. They were designed to be worn at home, and not spend a lot of money on. I just wanted to feel a little put-together in matching sets instead of a hodgepodge of pajamas. Now that its’ fall 2021 and we’re sort of back to normal life, I’m now investing in quality sweatshirts and hoodies that can be styled with my wardrobe in new ways.
Favorite Sweatshirts For Fall 2021
The first sweatshirt I really added to my closet that was “nice” is this Anine Bing one. I’ve been eyeing her stuff for years and have yet to pull the trigger. But since Brooklyn Blonde bought it (a favorite influencer who definitely influences my shopping) I decided it was time. I like that it’s a hoodie instead of her more traditional pullover sweatshirts. I’ll also be wearing this with faux leather leggings, a leather jacket or maybe even a blazer over it. I think it’ll be great to wear around as something comfy but also styled in a cool edgy way too.

A few other sweatshirts I’m adding to my closet is this cute graphic one from Sezane. They have some really nice pieces for fall and this is a beautiful high-quality crew sweatshirt. Great to dress up or down, I promise! Below are even more sweatshirts to shop from Free People, Scotch & Soda and more!
What I’ll Layer Over My New Sweatshirts
Styling a sweatshirt isn’t complicated, I know. Just throw it on over a tee and go. But I do think there are ways to style them up and make them a more trendy piece in your closet. Since they’re shapeless, I like to add some structure to them to give the illusion of shape. This means tailored blazers or structured jackets like leather jackets.
