One of my favorite cocktail indulgences is a great sangria. Although I do love my margaritas, I’m guilty of having a true love for tequila and have shared this margarita recipe before, I do love to switch it up at Mexican restaurants if they make a good (not too sweet) sangria. I love that they come in so many variations, red, white, different fruits etc. It really is the perfect cocktail to sip on on a hot summer day. Since the weather has been fabulous, and I’m finally on a mission to use my patio (a full before and after is coming eventually…it needs a lot of work) I thought I’d mix up a fun sangria to enjoy over the long Memorial Day weekend. Because of the holiday weekend, I instantly think of summer flavors, refreshing drinks and hanging out outside by a pool which was the inspiration behind this recipe. When I think of flavorful combinations that scream summer, I instantly gravitate towards anything peach. Adding the bright red raspberries was the only natural next step. The flavor combinations are fresh and sweet. So now that I know what fruits and flavors I want to mix up, let’s get to the recipe!
For this sangria, I went a little rogue. I switched it up with UV Vodka’s newest flavor, Sangria! With its citrus and fruity flavors (it’s almost like a cranberry vodka with a little something extra) it was a unique way to build my sangria recipe. Adding in white wine, apricot brandy, fresh peaches and raspberries plus a little seltzer for some bubbly, I was ready to enjoy this cocktail in no time. Serve this fruity concoction with chips and guacamole, your favorite tacos and you’ll be good to go for a fun night on your back porch (or in my case a cement patio).
With so many other flavors to choose from at UV Vodka, you’ll be inspired to create some really fun and interesting cocktails. The Sriracha is definitely next on my list for a really spicy take on a Bloody Mary.
