As we’re still embracing all the loungewear and sweats sets, with a new season comes new versions of our favorite. I’ve been on the hunt to add a few new sweatsuit sets to my ever growing collection. But only spring and summer approved ones. I will most definitely NOT be wearing anything but shorts this spring and summer. The south is far too hot and humid for anything but short shorts.
The Best Sweatshort Sets for Spring
While browsing for sweatshort sets I found several great matching sets from a few stores. The one I scored the most at were Aerie. They really have such a good selection and lots of great muted colors. Plus, their pricing is fantastic! Almost always on sale which is a plus. I picked up this polo pullover set in a muted peach hue. Also grabbed this white corded set that I’m tempted to grab in another color. Thinking the blue or olive, they’re really so pretty! And so so comfy. The thing I’m loving about these sweatshort sets though is how roomy and more high waisted all of the shorts are. I’ve officially replaced my super short sweatshorts that I was sleeping in for years (and my soffee shorts) with these. So much more flattering, and feel much more comfortable heading out for an errand in them without feeling too exposed.

Aerie Sweatshort Sets
These are a few of my favorite sets from Aerie. In today’s blush set, I did a small in the bottoms and medium in the top since it was so cropped. In the white corded set I ended up in the medium bottoms (they’re definitely more fitted but still have a longer inseam) and did a medium in the top as well. The small also fit, it was just more of a fit preference.
Madewell Sweatshort Sets
Madewell also has their own lounge line, MWL. They have lots of great options and in such gorgeous hues like lilacs, golds and muted robins egg blues. I’m in love with it all. I tried a few of these sets, and found that I felt better in the mediums. I’m usually almost always a small in Madewell, but again, I like my sweatshorts to be more roomy and felt the medium more comfortable.
Styling Sweatshort Sets
Just like the styling tips for my joggers and loungewear for fall and winter, the same rules apply here for spring. Just swap those more wintery layers for spring ones. A third piece always pulls everything together, even sweatpants. I like to layer my go to utility jackets or denim jackets over my sweat sets for a more appropriate outfit for public. Add a good sneaker and you’re good to go. For today’s look, I loved pairing this peachy set with this dark terracotta utility jacket. The color combination is everything!
