There is something about a denim dress that I am simply a sucker for. Maybe it’s the 90s kid in me, but I adore them. Every year they kind of evolve and change with the trends. But you can usually find a good safe style to last you over the years. These dresses have a true Americana feel to them too. They’re also really easy to style. I love them paired simply with a white sneaker or a neutral sandal. With bright punchy colors being really on-trend right now, this is also the perfect time to play with color. Just like you’d pair your denim with a bold colorful top, you can do that with a shoe or bag. Here are some of my favorite denim dresses in various styles for the summer.
The Best Denim Dresses For Women
Denim Mini Dresses
Give me ALL the mini-dresses when it comes to a denim one. I think too much denim feels a bit heavy personally. So I always lean towards the minis. And slightly fitted, or fit and flare, works best. I got this Alice + Olivia denim dress that I am so in love with. It’s super comfortable, very flattering and feels amazing on.
Button Front Denim Dresses
These feel more traditional in the sense that they’re like a denim shirt dress. I love these as well and used to have a really cute one from American Eagle but it was very stiff. My one complaint and something I now look for in a denim dress. The one in today’s post is so soft and comfortable which is why I went with it. I would probably suggest sizing up in this style of dress if the dress doesn’t have much give.
Unique Denim Dresses
For something a little more fun and interesting, I found lots of really cool and unique denim dresses. These are a fun option if you really love a denim dress. Which, hey, might be me! I’m loving some of these! This one from Bardot is super cute and great for date night. They don’t all have to be casual!
Best Shoes To Wear With A Denim Dress
This totally depends on the season and style of the dress, but I do think there’s a pretty broad range of shoe options here. For fall and winter outfits in a denim dress, go for boots all the way. Ankle booties, Chelsea boots, knee high boots. I love it all. And for spring and summer, go classic Americana vibes in a white sneaker. It’s perfection. But you can also totally do lots of different sandals. From low or flat slides, to strappy heels, I think there’s a wide range of styles and colors you can wear. A little raffia sandal, or brown leather slide, so classic. But you can also try some fun colors or prints. I love this fun strawberry print from Larroude that would be so darling with a denim dress.
