Last year I picked up this faux fur coat that I honestly purchased on a whim. It was so not something I was looking for or thought I even needed. But I stumbled onto it in the store and just had to try it on. Ever since, it’s been a closet favorite for fall and winter. Now that I know I love a faux fur jacket, I had to grab this under $100 one from Shopbop. I mean for barely $100, who could pass this up?!
Why I Love Faux Fur Coats
I think a fun faux fur coat is a must for any closet. It’s not super practical, obviously, but it’s fun and helps to make an outfit feel a little more extra. You can go casual like I did in a tee and jeans, or pair it with something fancier like a holiday party outfit. They’re versatile believe it or not. Here are a few reasons why I love a faux fur coat and think they’re worth it!
One, they’re insanely cozy and soft. You just want to cozy up in it. No matter how dressed up you are, you always just feel cozy and warm.
Two, it’s better than REAL fur. I do not believe in buying real fur coats. I think it is simply the grossest thing to buy. It’s bad enough we buy leather and eat animals and all of that. But if there’s one thing I would never, it’s buy a fur coat.
Three, they feel and look luxurious (usually). Yes, some look terrible, but I feel like they’ve gotten MUCH better in recent years. The price point isn’t insane anymore and they look really great. Whether you grab a solid more neutral one or go bold with a print, they look amazing and make a statement.
