I get most excited for shoes come spring. There’s just something about shorts with fun shoes. Or pretty little dresses in your favorite little sandals or espadrilles. Oh, espadrilles! My favorite!
There are so many amazing spring and summer shoe trends that come around every year. Lots of classics that take on a new twist. Fun new trends and even cool colors. These are some of my favorite shoe trends to try for 2023.
Best Spring Shoe Trends To Try This Year
The strappy little sandal is it this year. From flat strappy sandals to the low kitten heel (my personal favorite) to the high heeled strappy wrap-around sandals. There are truly so many options to choose from. The style I’m loving the most though is the double strap kitten heel.
I grabbed these lilac ones from Aqua – the Bloomingdale brand- and have been so in love with them. They’re comfortable, beautiful, and around $100. It’s a color I love so much and right now lilac is having a major moment. So why not finally get a lilac shoe to go with everything?
A no-brainer for spring and summer. They’re one of my favorite shoes to grab for so many looks. They truly are a closet staple that you’ll have for years.
I’ve invested in a couple of classic pairs from Castaner which is my beloved espadrille brand. But there are plenty of more fun and trendy ones you can find to satisfy your trend cravings.
Marc Fisher is a shoe brand that always has lots of options. These platform braided espadrilles are from them and they’re really so great. They check off several trends in one! The braided trend, the espadrille and of course, the platform.
Plus, they come in a few colors so if you want to try something other than a neutral, this is a great one to go with. You really can’t go wrong with a great espadrille!
The Fisherman Sandal
A cross between a gladiator sandal meets jelly, this style has grown in popularity over the last few years. You can find trendy ones with preppy or edgy detailing. Or more classic styles.
This trend can integrate into any personal style you may have. It’s all about which one you choose and how you style it.
Spring Mules And Slides
Mules are a great option for those in-between moments. I’m not really wanting to wear a full shoe, but not really wanting to wear a strappy little sandal. Insert the mule or a slide.
There are closed-toe options and open toe ones, too. These Vaneli cross-stitch neutral heels are a perfect pair for spring. If you want to choose more color, I’ve got you covered.
The Chunky Sandal
Whether it’s a classic yet edgy choice like Dr Martens, or something more chic and fashionable, a big chunky heavy sandal is so fun right now. I am loving my new Dr Martens and have the Clarissa and the Blaire.
But for something less edgy and instead more stylish, I also just picked these Tory Burch sandals up during the Shopbop sale. I love that they’re platform and chunky but feel more stylish and chic than Dr Martens.
I’m going to be honest here, I’m not into the braided sandal trend. I see it everywhere though so it’s clearly a thing and people are loving it. So I’m rounding up a few favorites to choose from.
But in my personal opinion, they’re just everywhere and I’d rather choose something more interesting or different. These are definitely a safe choice and a good everyday sandal in a flat or low heel.
