When I headed to Italy for a summer getaway, I knew I wanted to pack lots of easy breezy dresses. Italy in the summer is HOT, and they are just such an easy thing to pack and wear. This Sezane Jeanette dress was the perfect addition to my Italy suitcase.
The Perfect Dress For Wine Tasting
While we spent half of our time on the Amalfi Coast, we spent the other half in Tuscany. A beautiful region in northern Italy that is known for all of its incredible Chianti. We had a few winery tours planned to get to see the beautiful properties and do some tastings.
I don’t know what it is about wine tasting, but it makes me want to dress up a bit. A pretty little dress, a cute low heel, it just feels right. Plus, the grounds are so beautiful that it makes for the perfect opportunity to snap a great photo.
This Sezane Jeanette shirt dress was super comfortable for wearing all day to walk around and do lots of sitting. We would spend a good hour or two doing a tasting and having local cured meats and cheeses. Heaven!
I wore these Loeffler Randall bow block heel sandals which were super comfortable. I love a good low block heel for comfort. And finished it off with this pretty jute bag. You’ll also want to bring some sunglasses as you’ll be spending some time outside.
This look is truly the perfect outfit for wine tasting. For even more ideas on what to wear to wine country, check out this post with some more great essentials to pack. And if you’re heading to wine country in the winter, check out my guide on what to wear to wine country in the winter here.
The Three Wineries We Visited In Tuscany
If you’re visiting wine country in Italy, here are the three wineries we visited. They were each so very different and loved them all. You can see my video on them here.
Castello Della Paneretta
Castello Della Paneretta was a smaller winery, but absolutely stunning grounds. We had a private tour with a tasting. Along with a cute dog named Greta who kept us company.
I took home a bottle of their olive oil which has been an incredible treat to use on my salads and fresh veggies.
Castello di Verrazzano
Castello di Verrazzano is a more commercial winery but also quite beautiful. They have a large property with gardens and chickens and pigs. The tour was with a group and then after the tour we headed to the dining room for the tasting.
We just did the standard tasting and it was absolutely EPIC. We were expecting just some meats and cheeses. But no, this was a multi course meal. Come hungry! The meal began with meats and cheese, followed by one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Then we had ribs and sausages along with potatoes. And then to finish it off, a dessert and espresso.
Antinori
The Antinori winery is a work of art. This doesn’t look like it belongs in Tuscany, yet it blends into the hillsides perfectly. It was very unique in architecture with very clean lines, and minimal aesthetic. We just had a tasting in the wine room and skipped the tour here.
