Lately, I have been in one hell of a fashion rut. So much so that I wrote about my frustrations here. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to try new brands and styles, while also purging my closet like crazy. I can tell there’s a major shift happening in my own personal style, too.
In fact, I found myself leaving the house the other day in a dress I love, with shoes I adore and yet, the combination was just not me anymore. I was standing in my elevator getting ready to head down to my car and truly looked down at my outfit and said “god I hate this outfit should I go change”. But I didn’t. I was running out of time to get to an event.
But it is proof that my style is definitely evolving and old outfits I used to love are no longer it. The pieces I loved. But together, they were all wrong for me. There’s still work to be done in my own closet, and maybe even some more try-on sessions to figure out new outfit combinations. But one thing I have successfully done is discover some new brands and fits.
DISSH Maxi Slip Dress For Date Night
Say hello to my latest obsession, DISSH. This Australian brand has been everything I am looking for. I’m very clearly not into the peasant styles, or grand-millennial trends happening right now. And find myself leaning more towards edgy, sexy, yet still kind of minimal and neutral. And this brand embodies all of that.
Things aren’t overly dressy, the styles are simple but a little sexy or a little casual. Plus, the price point is super reasonable. This geometric print slip maxi dress was $140. Which to me is the perfect price point.
It also fits like a dream. So many slip-style dresses are very straight up and down and don’t fit your curves right. It can be tough to find one that is truly an hourglass shape that hugs you in all the right places at this price point. And this really is it. It comes in a few colorways too. Some solids, other prints, and even colorblocks. I may have to get it in another color.

DISSH Sizing Review
I placed a big order at DISSH and opted for size 6s in everything. I’m usually a 4 in most brands, maybe a 6. I’m also a few pounds heavier than I’d like to be right now. But the 6 fit me pretty great.
I also ordered a 4 just to see as this was a tad roomy but still flattering. The 4 also fit but I just felt more self-conscious around my stomach and felt like I’d definitely feel the need for SPANX (even just my lazy ones). So the 6 was a good option for me.
I’m definitely in-between in this brand but I think going up to my larger size is just more comfortable right now. I also appreciate the adjustable straps on this dress allowing me to make it fit just perfectly.
Printed Maxi Slip Dress Styling Ideas
To style this printed maxi slip dress I decided to add a little more edge to it with a leather jacket. I wore this look out in Paris to dinner which was so perfect. Instead of the nude block heel sandals, I opted for a black high heel instead. But either shoe choice works.
This would also be great with a flat sandal and denim jacket for something more casual. Or all by itself. I think it’s way more versatile than I imagined it would be. Would even be cute in the fall with a thin turtleneck underneath and an ankle bootie.
