It’s party dress season. Sequins, glitz, glam, you name it. It’s time to find the perfect little dress to welcome the new year. Or maybe just for a last minute holiday party. Recently I headed to Nordstrom for one of their free styling services and it was so much fun. To get a little help from someone else and get me out of my usual style habits, was such a nice change of pace. I tend to grab the same stuff over and over again. I went into this appointment knowing I wanted something fun and shimmery for the holidays and my stylists delivered!
The Perfect Red Sequined Mini Dress
I saw this hanging in the dressing room and couldn’t wait to try it on. Not only do I love a good little mini, but I loved the color. This garnet red was so rich and vibrant. I noticed it had shoulder pads and almost said no way. But after slipping it on I realized the shoulder pads were essential. It gives this more thin fabric some shape in the shoulders and balances it out. They’re necessary for sure. Wild to me that a shoulder pad was a closet essential in the 80s, but sometimes they’re still needed in the 21st century. This dress is under $100 which is such a great price for a sequined dress. I went with a small but honestly the medium fit just fine too. It’s surprisingly forgiving! And it also comes in a gun metal color that’s really pretty.

How To Style A Red Sequined Dress
I styled this little red sequined mini dress with my new Sarah Flint perfect pumps. But this would also be great with a gold heel, or a black strappy one too. And for cooler temps, just add a pair of black tights! A super easy dress to style for your next holiday party! You can always layer on a pretty blazer or leather jacket too for winter. Finish it all off with a pretty clutch and you’re good to go!
