There’s nothing quite like a girls’ trip to wine country like Napa or Sonoma. It’s relaxing, it’s beautiful, and the food and wine are incredible. You just can’t go wrong. The last few times I’ve visited I’ve grown to like wine country a little more.
I’ll be honest, my first visit wasn’t ideal. It rained, it was gloomy and it was after harvest. But ever since, it just keeps getting better.
Visiting wine country with friends for a girl’s getaway or bachelorette weekend is such a fun way to indulge and relax and get in some quality girl time. But packing for wine country for the spring and summer is key! You want to be laid back California cool, but also stylish and ready to go from wineries, to downtown Napa in style.
Wine Country Outfit Idea
For wine country, in the spring and summer, I love to pack lots of dresses. Flowy, comfortable dresses allow you to sit and enjoy wine without worrying about your pants getting too tight.
Because, hello bloat, right? I always pack a denim jacket for a good light layer or even a lightweight sweater or cardigan. And as for shoes, keep them simple and low. There’s no need for high heels.
In fact, I prefer a good block heel in case you end up heading into the vineyards to do a little exploring. You won’t want a heel digging into the ground. Sneakers or converse are also a good call and work well with jeans too.
A few other notable items to pack are a swimsuit just in case, sunscreen and of course sunglasses. I also love to pack this setting powder with SPF. It’s great to keep in your bag so you can easily add SPF to your full face of makeup.
PS Here’s what I wore in Italy as the perfect dress for wine tasting.

Tie Front Dresses For Wine Country
One of my favorite dresses in my closet is this white tie front dress. It was perfect for wine country. It’s such a pretty and sweet silhouette for a day of drinking wine. It’s also great to dress up or down.
For wine tasting during the day, you can style it with a pair of sandals or sneakers for serious comfort. And then add a hat and denim jacket to complete your look.
But for the evening, you can still get some use out of this dress and take it easily from day to night. Just add a higher heel sandal, a pashmina (here are two fun ways to wrap them!) and a clutch to complete your look. Shop more tie-front dresses below.
