I can’t help but look at these photos and think OMG my hair is so long! These were actually shot WEEKS if not months ago and it’s only gotten much much longer. I’m excited to do a big chop soon but until then, I’ve got lots of hair tutorials coming your way. This one is the half up version of this
How To Do A Half Twist With A Rose Gold Pin
Things You Need
- A
hair pin (Kristin Ess’ are sold out but Etsy has tons, love this one) - Texture Spray
- Teasing Brush (optional) this helps to add some extra volume and grit to your hair
Step One
Start with beachy waves, you can follow my tutorial here. For added grit and texture, spray your hair with some texture spray. You can also tease the top half of your hair a bit for added volume and grit. Then section your hair off right at the top of your ears to the crown of your head.
Step Two
Twist the hair all the way down. You can pull it a part a bit for some added volume.
Step Three
With your twisted pony in one hand, take your other hand’s pointer finger and hook the twisted pony towards the top as seen above.
Step Four
You’ll take the hooked finger and hook and twist your tiwsted pony up so it makes a loop.
Step Five
You’ll then insert your pin. Using a hair pin in my opinion is TRICKY. It takes some practice. The best tip I can give you is that you’ll hook some hair on one side and as you loop it over to the other and push it through the knot, you’ll want to keep it close to your head. You’ll see in these photos that we hooked some hair on the right, then flipped the pin over the knot and shoved the ends through the knot.
