I’m hooked on the two piece set trend. I’ve got matching tops and shorts. But have yet to do the matching top and skirt. Until now. And my collection is growing. This little navy set from Reformation is what started it all, actually. Sets are becoming so popular now that there are dedicated sections on retailer websites. So many brands are jumping on this trend and I am 100% here for it.
My Favorite Two Piece Skirt Sets
When it came to two piece skirt sets, I found that many of them included crop tops. Short sets not so much. Many are simply button-downs paired with shorts. And I think the crop top gave me a ton of hesitancy to try these types of sets. As someone who is always trying to lose 10 lbs, I am not really one to just show off my midriff. I also blame being a millennial and the 90s and 00s low-rise jeans really doing a number on our body image when we were tweens.
The Crop Top Is Not My Enemy
However, I think I’m quickly learning that a crop top is no longer my enemy. I had such a fear of them and avoided them at all costs. Until now. I’m realizing that they’re actually kind of great. They just highlight the smallest part of your body, your waist! And since I live in anything and everything high-waisted, it just makes sense to not have to deal with tucking a shirt in and adding bulk. So insert the two piece crop top and skirt set into my life.
And yes, you need it too.

There are SO many options of two-piece skirt sets out there. From super casual sets, to Vegas night out styles. Even pieces you can wear to weddings and events. And they come in a range of silhouettes from minis, to midis and maxis. Fitted, to flowy. There is truly something out there for everyone. And as with any matching set, I love that they can be mixed and matched with the rest of your closet. This Reformation set will be great with just the skirt paired with a printed tank or tee. And the crop top can be paired with my high rise denim and skirts.

This navy set is so easy to style with simple summer accessories. Summer block heel sandals and a rattan woven bag is all you need. I also picked up these fun sunglasses while in New Orleans at a local boutique. I fell in love with them and they were super affordable. No clue what brand they are, but these are nearly identical. For a light layer, I’d pair this with a cropped denim jacket, or layer over a lightweight sweater over my shoulders (I wish I was this person, but I love the look on others). The Reformation set comes in a few colors and prints now as well. For sizing, I went with my usual size in Reformation which you can read about here if you’re new to shopping the brand!
