No matter if you’re single or coupled up, Valentine’s Day can be the perfect excuse to show yourself a little self-love. You can make a night of pampering yourself with all the things. From a mani-pedi, to a fabulous bubble bath, or my favorite, an at-home facial. I love to pamper myself every so often by going a bit over the top with my at-home facials. This usually consists of a good steamy shower to get my pores opened up, a good double cleanse, followed by a mask done in a cozy robe of course. Bonus points for having a glass of wine on hand to enjoy while you wait for your mask to do the work!
You can do this solo, with your significant other as a fun at-home date night, or make a girl’s night out of it and everyone brings over their favorite wine and face mask. This is such a great way to spend time with yourself for a little self-love, or have a little activity to do with a loved one or friends. Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day facial ideas to try that are delicious (yes delicious!), and are cupid approved.
6 Valentine’s Day Facial Ideas
Before you do any of these face masks, be sure to prep your skin for a great at home facial. Applying a face mask to skin that has not been prepped will not allow the mask to work its best. You can check out my post here on how to have a spa-like facial right at home. It’s all about the little bit of prep work to make sure you get the MOST out of your mask and your skin looking and feeling its best.
Chocolate Face Mask
This is such a fun face mask to try at home and you probably have the ingredients already in your kitchen! For an at-home facial on V-Day, try a chocolate face mask by melting a few tablespoons of dark chocolate and a little plain yogurt with a tbsp of flour. It will create a paste that is full of antioxidants from the chocolate, lactic acid from the yogurt to help smooth skin and a little exfoliation from the flour.
Cookies & Cream Facial
If a DIY face mask is your not your thing, don’t worry! I have you covered there too. Try this clay mask which is perfect for detoxifying your skin. Ideal for those of us with oily skin and large congested pores. With salicylic acid and clay, this mask will clarify your skin and clear out those pores. Who can say no to cookies n cream? I mean, CLEAN!
Raspberry DIY Facial
I have this blog post of all my favorite ingredients to use to make a homemade DIY face mask. And most of the ingredients I bet you already have on hand. One fun ingredient to use for Valentine’s Day is raspberries! They are high in antioxidants and will also make your mask a gorgeous red color that is just perfect for Valentine’s Day. I share lots of ingredients to try and all the benefits to clean glowy skin. So pick and choose your favorites and create a custom DIY face mask at home.
Rose Face Mask
Can’t have a Valentine’s Day facial without some roses, right? This retexturing mask from Origins has Mediterranean rose clay in it to help detoxify your skin and pores and help make dull skin look brighter. It’s also a really pretty pink color. Apply to skin and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then wet your fingers and massage the mask into your skin as a gentle exfoliator before washing off.
Soothing Rose Sorbet Mask
For a more calming and soothing mask, try this Rose Sorbet Cryo-Mask from Lancôme. It’s soothing with rose water, and has salicylic acid to help smooth skin texture and minimize the look of pores.
Strawberry Prebiotic Smoothie Mask
For a hydrating face mask that is great for those of you with dry skin. Help hydrate uneven, dry skin with this Sephora strawberry prebiotic face mask. With ingredients like glycerin, shea butter and squalane which helps to strengthen the skin barrier. Plus, it’s pink! So fun and perfect for a Galentine’s Day face mask party.
