Friends, Friday was a LONG ass day as I headed out to Milan with one of my friends, Hailey. We met up with our friend Kristin who was in Germany for work. We’ll be in Lake Como for a few days then head to Mykonos to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday today. I’m pretty excited for both destinations as I’ve never been and have heard great things about them. Since we had several mini flights in between, and trains and boats, we decided yet again to only do the carry-on life.
It’s such a struggle for me but after South Of France and discovering packing cubes, I’m feeling more confident. I will say, this trip is nearly twice as long with much cooler temperatures. When thinking about outfits to wear, I wanted versatile dresses to pack that can go from day to night, mountains and lakes to the Greek islands. Insert this dress.
Versatile Dresses To Pack For Vacations
I mostly packed a few things that can easily transition so that I can keep my suitcase in check. Or rather, not checked if you will. This pretty hunter-green floral maxi allows me to do just that. During the day exploring Lake Como I wore it with a jacket and chucks. Finally taking my own advice from this post actually. And I’ll wear it this week at night in Mykonos for dinner out with the girls. I’ll style it with some sandals and a straw bag. I love when pieces can easily go from day to night, which makes packing for long trips so much easier.
PS if green isn’t your color, there’s this purple version that’s nearly identical and I’m kind of obsessed. Flynn Skye is a new to me brand and it’s safe to say I’ll be shopping it a lot more! Doing a size medium in this dress for reference.
Maxi Dress Styled For Date Night, Cocktails Or A Night On The Town
To dress up this floral maxi, I’m just adding a nude heel and a neutral bag. Add a clutch for a more dressy vibe, but my nude bag that I travel with works perfectly. Versatility is key, especially when packing light! This would also be perfect with an espadrille for a more summer vacation vibe too.
Styled For Casual Days, Exploring The City And Comfort
To take this dress from dressed up to dressed down, just swap the heels for your favorite white athleisure shoes. I love my Adidas, Vejas or even platform Converse. And for a light layer, add a suede moto jacket or denim jacket to make it more casual. This look is perfect for travel days, exploring a city by foot and just those casual days that you don’t want to be super dressed up.
