For Valentine’s Day, or if you’re doing a Galentine’s Day with friends, we tend to think about reds and pinks. But as someone who doesn’t wear either of those colors ever, I thought I’d share a few other pieces to try instead. Anytime I want to get dolled up for a date or a night out with friends, I love classic black. This sometimes can feel a tad boring, but that’s what today’s post is all about.
What To Wear For Valentine’s Day That Isn’t Pink
For a friend’s birthday recently, I wore this look that felt so fun and festive, yet a bit cool and edgy. These faux black leather pants are one of my all time favorite items in my closet. And they are so easy to dress up or down (here are a few ways to style them). But to make them feel edgy for a night out, I added this feather-trimmed blouse. I love the lapel-style collar versus a classic shirt collar. Adding these leopard Sarah Flint heels was the perfect way to complete the look. And a little gold jewelry of course.

Fun Valentine’s Day Tops To Style
A Going Out Top™ if you will, these are great to pair with straight leg jeans, or even flared or wide leg if the top is more fitted. And yes, they go great with a faux leather jean or even a skirt.
Try Non Denim Bottoms
We all tend to reach for denim, or at least I know I’m super guilty of this. For a little night out, try swapping your denim for something else. Maybe faux leather, a great trouser, or a leather mini skirt. I can’t tell you how comfortable faux leather pants are, they are like sweatpants! So while people think you put in more effort to not reach for your fall back denim, you’ll know you really just chose the comfier bottoms.
Sexy Dresses For Valentine’s Day
And if you’re more of a dress person, try a sexy little dress for Valentine’s Day. I’m all about a silky satin dress and Reformation is my go to place for that. Take this pretty brown dress, such a nice change f pace from red or pink, or even classic black.
