White jeans become a staple in my closet for spring and summer. You may be worreid about white jeans being a bit see through, or worry about styling them in a way that feels stylish. But I have to be honest, one thing I really love about them, is that they can truly be worn all year long. Gone are the days of no white after Labor Day. And we’re not letting a potential slightly see through jean keep us from wearing this closet staple. Let me show you what to wear with white jeans for every season and occasion and finally combat any potential see-through panic.
What To Wear With White Jeans
Here’s what I think people don’t realize about white jeans. You can truly wear just about anything with white jeans. Once you figure out your favorite silhouette and proportions, the options are kind of endless. All sorts of colors work, from yes, white, to red, pink, blue and classic black. You can also wear so many different shoe options from sneakers, to sandals, and pumps. And for fall and winter, even booties. Having a pair or two of white denim in your rotation will expand your closet in a ton of new ways.
To get your outfit started, if you haven’t invested in a great pair of white jeans, below are some of my all time favorites. From wide leg, to full length, slightly cropped, and straight leg. If you find that any of your jeans are a bit see-through, simply swapping your underwear for a nude pair will resolve the issue. There’s no need to stress about them being a little see-through if you start with the right base, nude undergarments.

Best Tops To Wear With White Jeans
You can really wear any of your favorite tops with white jeans. No style of top is off limits. The only thing I like to keep in mind is matching the whites. While you don’t have to match it exactly, it’s ideal to pair your white jeans with the right undertone. Warm white jeans, with a warm white top, and cool white jeans with cool white tops. That’s really the only thing to keep in mind. Otherwise, all your favorite tops in your closet can work from classic tees, button-downs, blouses and sweaters. Here are a few favorite tops to wear with white jeans that I love to reach for.
Striped Tees
A classic combination with a pair of white jeans is a striped tee or top. It’s a classic that always works. Choose any color stripe, wide or thin, and pair with a neutral sandal or sleek sneaker.
Linen Blouses & Tops
Linen is a favorite fabric to reach for in spring and summer and it pairs well with white jeans. From linen vests, tanks, tops and even linen tee, this is a great option for summer looks.
Button Downs & Blouses
A simple button down is a great pairing with white denim. Whether you go all white, or choose a color or print, all options truly work. You can go oversized and untucked if pairing with a more slim leg white jean, or opt to tuck in your shirt if wearing something a bit wider on the bottom.
Nicer blouses are also great tops for white jeans. Perfect for going out all year round. A nice blouse paired with crisp white jeans and a stylish shoe is a favorite combination that feels fresh when you’re in a denim jean rut.
Fitted Tees, Tanks Or Turtlenecks
I love the sleek look of tucking in a fitted tee, tank or tissue thin turtleneck into jeans. It’s such an effortless look. I like to reach for a straight leg or wider leg jean when doing this to balance out the fitted top. You can also just pair a good oversized third piece like a blazer over top to balance out a more slim straight leg.
Cozy Sweaters
Yes, you can wear cozy sweaters with white jeans in the fall and winter. I love a more oversized sweater, but you can also do a slightly cropped boxy one, or a classic more fitted sweater. Anything goes!

Shoes To Wear With White Jeans
I truly can’t think of a shoe that doesn’t go wtih white jeans. It’s really just about the right jean style, with the right shoe. The only two rules I can sort of think of are to pair your booties with a straight leg so the jean falls over the boot, and I think most loafers and flats should go with a slightly cropped fit. Otherwise, you can really mix and match full length to cropped, wide to slim, with any shoe. Just keep balance and proportion in mind. Here are some of the best sheos to wear with white jeans, but really, the options are endless!

Strappy Heeled Sandals And Everyday Heels
Great for spring and summer, a strappy heeled sandal is super versatile and easy to style with so many denim silhouettes. I like a strappy sandal with a slim leg, or wide leg, cropped or full length. They can go well with looks for the office or a nice lunch or dinner. A heel will also allow you to wear any style of jean here. From longer lengths, wider fits, or a slightly cropped fit to show off the shoe entirely.

Espadrilles Or Wedge Sandals
For a super summery combination, try pairing your white denim with a summer espadrille whether it’s a flat or wedge, or go with a summer wedge in any material like leather or cork. This shoe sttyle can work with a longer length jean or a shorter one, and anything from slimmer to wide. They’re super versatile! And yes, you may be tying your espadrilles wrong, here’s my must see tutorial.

White Fashion Sneaker Or Any Color You Like
A classic pairing for spring and summer is to wear your white jeans with a white sneaker. I like to reach for something that’s more slim and maybe fashion forward versus an athletic sneaker. Try a pair of Converse, Supergas, or Adidas Sambas or Gazelles. And no, you don’t have to just wear white! I love to wear my red Adidas, or leopard print ones with white jeans. It adds some contrast to your white jeans and then you can add a color with your top to sandwich the white with for a contrasting outfit.
When choosing a white jean to pair with a sneaker, try a full length relaxed fit, or a slimmer slightly cropped. I find this to be a versatile shoe option to pair with a lot of different jean styles.

Sandals
Spring and summer sandals are the ideal shoe and white jean pairing for warmer months. I love a simple slide or strappy flat sandal with either a full length jean where you just see the toes pop out, or something a bit more cropped. You can also go wide or slim cropped here, any fit really works. I would just avoid a really chunky heavy sandal with a longer length jean.
Loafers or Flats
A loafer, ballet flat, Mary Jane or pointed toe flat is a perfect shoe choice with white jeans. I love the look of a dark brown leather flat paired wtih a crisp white jean. It feels so sophisticated and clean. Just add a darker top on top to contrast the jeans and create a cohesive look.
When choosing a jean style to wear with a flat, I usually like something that’s a bit cropped, and slightly more slim. A straight leg with a slight crop is my go-to with this shoe style. You can show off the flat, and balance the look with a slightly oversized top.

Boots and Booties
Yes, you can and should wear boots or booties with your white jeans! I have a few jean rule pairing tips here though like wearing a Chelsea boot or sock bootie (ones that are more fitted to the leg) with something like a straight leg that can fall over the boot. This creates a nice clean line. You can also do a knee high boot over your white slim or skinny jeans. Just pair that with something super oversized on top to balance out the skinny jean and the fitted boot over the jeans.

It’ll show you exactly what boots go with which jean styles. And you should also browse my guide on how to style boots with straight leg jeans so you can style these styles with confidence.

Pumps And Heels
Whether you choose a pointed toe mule or pump, or a block heel, there are so many ways to style your heels with white jeans. I love the contrast of a darker pump with the white jean, just add something dark on top. Or go neutral with a tan block heel, and add anything you want on top to create a great outfit.

White Jeans Summer Outfit Ideas
Here are a few white jeans summer outfits that I love. Fun summery tops paired with sandals is the easiest combination. Try an embroidered top or a crochet or woven one for some texture and interest. And no matter what style of jean you choose, white denim shorts to white wide leg jeans, a simple sandal works with all of these jean silhouettes.

White Jeans For Work Or The Office
When thinking of a white jeans work outfit, I love to add structure and stick to a tailored jean fit. A good straight leg or slim wide leg with a bit of a crop, are a great choice. For shoes, you can do a pointed toe pump, or flat, a loafer or even a strappy shoe if your office allows it. Add a third piece like a great blazer and a belt to really complete your business look.
For fall and winter, try a sweater or cardigan with your white jeans outfit. Depending on your office culture, you can possibly wear a white leather sneaker, a loafer or an ankle bootie.

How To Style White Jeans For A Casual Weekend
White jeans are such an easy casual weekend look to style. Add a simple sandal and fitted tee, or a Mary Jane and lightweight jacket if it’s cooler out. I also love styling white straight-leg jeans with any of my colorful Adidas (any fashion sneaker works), and then you can add a simple jacket or sweater. Simple, easy, yet still feels stylish and cool while styling white jeans in casual outfits.
