Everyone has their own uniform for each season. And some that they even wear all year round. I have friends who always wear black from head to toe no matter the season. Or the friend who always wears dresses no matter what. But for me, each season has a specific uniform. A select few outfits and combinations that I find myself always gravitating towards. They’re the pieces I feel most comfortable in. And also feel most put together along with being fashion forward (enough at least). That combination, comfort AND put together, can sometimes be hard to come by. But today’s look, this is that perfect combination that I feel my best in.
There are times I try to be more fashion-forward and dress out of my usual seasonal uniform and then find myself ripping my clothes off the second I get home. Or constantly fussing with something or wishing I didn’t wear XYZ. It never fails and it only solidifies that my favorites are my favorites for a reason. There’s really nothing more awful than putting on an outfit and heading out the door only to realize you don’t feel yourself. If that’s you, take a mental note of what that is and maybe start shifting your closet a bit. When I did the KonMari Method on my closet, that was actually the first thing we did. I pulled out 5 outfits that make me feel great to be my purging sounding board. And you bet this combination was one of them.
How To Recreate My Fall Uniform
Recreating this outfit is so easy too. These are the elements of this simple fall look that you probably already have in your closet. The only thing you may need if you don’t have one is a good boyfriend blazer. Or any blazer you like really, but I like a boyfriend one and you can even just buy one from the men’s section if you like, too.
Shop Boyfriend Blazers
You can swap out the cashmere long sleeve sweater for a graphic tee or a cotton long sleeve. Pull out different colors from your blazer or try a complementary color to make it work. I also prefer a more fitted top anytime I throw on a blazer. It really is a great third piece to jeans, tee and sneakers. Or even loafers like I did here last fall. But a more fitted and tucked in top feels more put together to me. This Everlane crew is a favorite for fall and winter.
Shop Simple Fitted Tops
And to round it all out, I love to pair this combination with a good pair of sneakers. I’m all about a good white athleisure sneaker because you can wear them with SO much. Dresses, skirts, faux leather leggings and even jeans and a blazer. I love a Reebok, so classic and crisp. But my platform Converse are another favorite or Vejas. You can also swap that out with a loafer or oxford if that’s more your style or even a ballet flat. And if you want to dress things up, just swap it for a stiletto and you’ve got a look for a night out.
