I’m a big fan of Food Network and all things cooking shows. I’ll be honest though in that the last year, Food Network has leaned in WAY too hard into their competition shows which I’m not particularly a fan of. I could watch classic cooking shows all day long though. Rachael Ray’s 30 minute meals, anything Ina Garten (my spirit animal), or lean into Italy with Giada. And honestly, everything in between. I’m also a big fan of The Kitchen. Such a great show with a good mix of cooking but also tips and hacks (my favorite).
But there are definitely chefs who I love to watch but am always going “oh my god no, gross”, it’s usually Ree Drummond, let’s be honest. But I still love her. It’s just, too much alfredo sauce and things from cans, but I do love her show and have 100% made her coffee mug cake at least a dozen times. If there was one chef though that you’d have to have cook every meal for you for the rest of your life, who would it be?
Which Food Network Star Would You Want To Be Your Personal Chef
I’m torn on four of them. Ina Garten is clearly the front runner. Her recipes are classic, simple and the girl knows how to make a great cocktail. Bobby Flay though makes the most epic-looking Mexican dishes which is my weakness. And his Brunch With Bobby show is a personal favorite. But Mexican food only the rest of my life? Not sure. Probably could though, let’s be honest. Then there are the upper crust chefs like Alex Guarnaschelli and Geoffrey Zakarian who just make everything so perfectly. There are no “light” dishes, or casseroles, it’s all really good classic foods that are elevated. I also may have a small crush on Geoffrey. But seriously, it’s a toss up between these four Food Network stars.
Who would you want to cook for you every single day?
And let’s be honest, I’d like to live in Ina Garten’s house for this experiment. Obviously. To me, Ina is living the best life there is. Her husband lives in the city during the week while she stays in the Hamptons with her incredible friends just cooking and enjoying her life. He comes home on the weekends and then he’s back to the city. It’s kind of the ideal marriage if you ask me. Geoffrey and Alex live in tiny New York City apartments and Bobby Flay I believe lives in New York and LA, so while this would be a good set up, I’m still leaning towards Ina’s Hampton estate.
