Happy Monday, friends. I’ve had the ultimate summer weekend spending a day on the boat with friends and enjoying some patio time. Something weird has happened here in Atlanta this past week. The humidity has been, dare I say it, bearable? Don’t get me wrong, it’s still very hot. But I’ve been able to wear jeans at night and not die from the heat. I’ve also been able to wear this combination, short shorts and a blazer. A favorite way to dress up my go to denim shorts for a night on the patio with friends. It’s my way of elevating a pair of denim shorts. Plus, I don’t feel overdone which is a win.

Pairing a crisp white blazer with denim shorts and a casual striped tee is the way to do it for summer date night. Or summer girls night. Let’s be honest, mostly girls night in my world most of the time. Crisp white and denim is a combination I simply love. It just feels summery and light. And grabbing a white blazer instead of a white denim jacket is a more tailored and sophisticated way to wear white in the summer. Reach for fabrics that are lighter for summer like crepe linen, cotton and cotton-blends. This will make all the difference in the look and feel of your outfit.
