Can I be honest? A puff sleeve is not really something I usually gravitate towards. Like at all. It’s a bit overly feminine for my more casual, minimal style (with a touch of edge, I think?) The prairie style trend that’s been happening these last few years is something I just can not get behind. I despise it. I’m not sure why I have such a strong opinion on it, but I do. I feel like women are covering up their bodies in giant mumus with ruffles and puffs and drab floral prints that feel like a tablecloth. I clearly have feelings about it. But I am a firm believer in showing off your body and embracing it. But I digress. To each their own. I know fashion is so personal, so while you may love it, great. Just know, I’m over it.
But the puff sleeve. I have differing views. On one hand, I’m not usually into it. On the other, I have found that when you spend a little money on a puff sleeve, it tends to fall more nicely. Fabric is key. And when I saw this Reformation top I just had to have it. I loved it the second I put it on. I think the fitted body and fun back also made me fall in love with it. Reformation is quickly becoming a go-to brand for me. I have always loved their dresses (read my sizing review here) but I am starting to branch out to their skirts and tops and I am not disappointed one bit!
Best White Puff Sleeve Tops For Spring
While browsing some of my favorite online stores recently, I did notice something. Lots and lots of white puff sleeve tops. And many have a more fitted body that I think is more flattering. They seem to be everywhere and at every price point. There’s also so many neckline options. I prefer having a little skin show as I feel like the puff sleeve plus a high neck just feels a bit, I dunno, a bit old lady. Give me a little cleavage and I’m happy.
But if you don’t want to show off any skin, I’m really loving this cool neckline on this one. Also comes in black. And I’m eyeing this one from English Factory which also comes in lilac (a color I’m loving for spring right now) and also black. This top would be great for the office too. Ways To Style White Puff Sleeve Tops For Spring
I think these types of tops are great for spring and summer and lend themselves to easy outfit pairings. Pair your puff sleeve white top with classic denim shorts or jeans for a simple look. The white and indigo blue is one of my absolute favorite combinations. So classic and easy. Add in a few boho accessories like platform sandals and you’re good to go. But these also work paired with all your skirts. Style with a flowy midi skirt if the bodice is more fitted. Or if you’re going for a flowy top with the puff sleeve, I prefer that to be tucked into something more fitted like tailored shorts or a mini skirt. It just balances it all out.
I’ll be styling this white top again with these sage green shorts. And they’ll be perfect with all my denim from shorts to crops to even flared wide leg denim for the ultimate 70s vibes. Below are a few favorite bottoms that I think would be so fun to pair with a white puff sleeve top for spring. Easily dress this up or down too with the right shoes. Sneakers or sandals for something more laid back and casual. Or try an espadrille, platform or heel for something a bit more dressy.
