Let the travel finally kick off for 2019! I’m so excited for this upcoming week. So many fun things. First off, let’s not forget that Sunday is my birthday. Wait, maybe we should forget, I’m not really big on birthdays… But tomorrow my family and I are doing a low key birthday dinner at a favorite Italian spot in Atlanta, Storico Fresco. Saturday I have a friend’s wedding and then Sunday I’ll celebrate my birthday with my favorite brunch recovering from the wedding festivities. But what’s most exciting is that Monday I head off to Napa for the Quotient National Sales Meeting.
I’m finishing the week there with Josh and my good friend Lisa for a hot air balloon ride on Friday before I head home. I can’t wait to experience this and see what it’s like. I’m a tad nervous, I mean there’s just you, a balloon and hot air.
Since Napa weather in the winter can be mild, but also potentially cold, I’m packing a few great layers. Insert this great Madewell jacket that’s been perfect for that weird
What To Pack For Napa In The Winter
Light Layers
Since Napa isn’t usually FREEZING but still can be cold, light layers are always a great option. This means, not your heaviest coat but a good light coat like this one that can easily be layered for extra warmth. Bring your favorite sweaters and long sleeve tops. Layering with lighter pieces will allow you to adjust according to the weather and your tolerance. I’m fairly warm blooded so I prefer light layers regardless. I usually put a long sleeve under my sweaters so if I get hot and miserable, I can take off the sweater if need be.
Scarves & Wraps
I just feel like Napa calls for scarves and wraps. It’s a very laid back, casual place and a great scarf is the perfect way to stay warm and pull your look together. My Anthropologie fringe scarf is just perfect for that. It can be worn with a long sleeve only since it’s so darn cozy!
Comfortable Booties
Leave the heels at home unless you have a fancy dinner to attend. Booties are a great option for Napa since they’re comfortable and will keep your feet warm. Plus, they go with so much. If you do need to get more dressed up, you can definitely wear booties with a dress and be polished enough for an upscale dinner. PS my leopard booties are now on sale for under $100. I recommend sizing up at least half a size!
Hangover Cures
So this has nothing to do with fashion, but wine makes me hungover almost always so I am never without a few hangover cure favorites. I usually pack Pedialyte or Gatorade packs with me. Easily turn that water in the hotel room into a powerful drink to cure your hangover. Alka-Seltzer, a game changer in hangover curing. And lastly, Advil. These are things I never travel without!
