Taking your favorite florals from summer to fall can be a little tricky. You see, you can’t wear these kinds of florals if you ask me, but these deep moody florals totally work. Especially so when adding leather jackets, a velvet clutch and chunky mary janes. This winter floral maxi is such a fun transition from summer to fall and I’m kind of obsessed with this winter maxi idea. I need to get more!
It’s funny I was browsing online desperately for velvet mary janes, when I realized, HELLO I own suede ones from like 7 years ago. And they’re BACK in style. Jesus I’m getting old. I remember buying these shoes on major clearance, I want to say they were only $20 bucks or so from Nine West. They’re actually comfortable, super cute and I’ve officially brought them back to life. If you go WAY back in my archives, you’ll see them, like here which was actually one of my favorite shoots ever with Beka. Funny to look back in the archives, but I beg of you, don’t go too far back…
Speaking of the archives, I shot these photos by my old office at Alternative Apparel. Janelle was in that area for another shoot so I decided to meet my old co-workers for lunch and meet her after. It was pretty ironic and a full circle moment for me as I used to shoot my looks there 5 years ago with a try-pod and my crappy point and shoot camera. How embarrassing! I can’t believe I used to do that and I was actually PROUD of the work. If you want a real good laugh, here’s one of those looks. And my hair was SO short. So funny. I hope you LOL at that one.
